Quick question about the avenger bolt thrower for Minas Tirith:

Can this fire in any direction 360 degrees? I assume so, because the model seems to suggest that to me, and the rules entry for this doesn't have any firing arc template (unlike the Iron Hills chariot weapon, which does have a firing arc template).

Also, can the bolt thrower fire through its crewmen, if in base-to-base contact? Again, I would assume so, as normally an archer can fire over the shoulder of a model it's in base-to-base contact with.

Just checking if people would agree with my interpretation?

From what I understand the avenger draws line of sight from one of its crew rather than the machine itself so its crew can't be considered in the way and it can fire in any direction regardless of its actual position just like a normal model with a ranged weapon. I can't say that I have a lot of textual support for it firing in any direction but, as you said, it isn't prohibited and that is how normal range weapons work. No one I have played with has ever disagreed with that.

Thanks for the comment ... and line of sight from the crew makes sense.

I had a couple of games where someone asked me if it fired 360 degrees, and I said that "I think so" and the other player was happy ... but it feels better if someone else agrees with me too!
