Ay - it's slightly the other side of Manch to you. I currently live in Salford, mind - but my stuff has been scattered across the globe recently and my 2k force would NOT be competitive as it would mostly be trying to get to 2k, hahaha.

yup...

I know i am fortunate.. I managed about 100 games or so in the last 2.5 years. Currrently batting at about 1x a week, every week.

A small cadre of us (now 5!) play in Swindon, two of us travel 30 miles to get there, but hey WOTR!

We have some minor house rules about Khamul (only a 6 deflects hits), Glaives (+1 to hit not +1 Fight), and cavalry being exempt from the 50% per co must be normal troops. But we keep otherwise close to the book.

We also introduced the idea of 'themed' lists. Which enforces non-anachronistic hero/unit combos, limiting Nazgul, and extends the 'Decrees' so that you MUST take at least one banner, musician, Capt, etc etc as well as a fate and at least one legendary (or battlehost).

In fact we are now considering starting a small campaign based on the one in BGIME 66/67 updated for WotR.

The Battle for Middle Earth has begun!

Your 2k would be like my 4k then.

Well, I will continue to read your reports in any case.

@daersalon, :D :D People do play WotR, I wish you happy gaming!

Hi
I help run the eastgrinstead Wargamers, we used to play loadsof WotR, but with the recent hobbit release we have revived the SBG scene 4-5 regular players. Like Southerndunedian said (he's from our club) we occasionally play WotR. Have been thinking about a campaign combined both rules, following in the footstep of the hobbits and fellowship and using the most appropriate rules...
...just need to get the tourney out the way and then we can start the story/battles :-)

Hi Leonardis, I'm over in Hildenborough, would it be possible to do the odd visiting game of sbg?

Hi
We're always looking out for new players! I live in Uckfield so about same distance as you, we play every other week, so just let us know when you are planning to come along - can make sure we have even numbers!
See you soon :-)

Hey Leonardis,

Maybe a club vs club series of battles or some such? Swindon and East Grinstead are to far for a casual encounter, but a day event on a weekend?

Cheers
