That has to be the best looking osgiliath terrain i have ever seen. I think you struck a great balance between size and work to do, which means it might actually be finished without cutting corners. Do you intend on playing on it or is it mostly diorama?

Thank you sir! Initially it was for Diorama purposes but after playing a small game before I painted I was surprised how well it worked out for its size. I am planning to expand with 3 more boards bringing it to 4x5 ft, hoping that will allow for bigger armies to go at it.

I love how brutally dense and suffocating everything is. As a soldier you could feel the ruins bearing down upon you :D

That's something I feel my own board lacks, is that as it's so large, it doesn't quite have the density.

Thanks Bro, and don't sell yourself short you have some amazing pieces on that board, I'm always going back to your youtube video constantly stalking the different building haha. Also That Dome of Stars is absolutely killer!

That is a great piece of terrain, modeling! Looking forward to seeing some action pictures taken on it.

Alright so I managed to finally finish the board this weekend. After many experiments with water effects most ending in utter failure I was able to get some advice from my friend Dave at JMD scenery. Went down to the local craft store and bought some Artist gloss gel on the cheap, mixed with some gloss paints and ink and got some very nice water effects in the canal. I took a lot of shots of the finished product and set up some figures on the board for some action shots as requested. There is no particular game going on in the shot, just kind of randomly placed them for a diorama effect but hope you guys enjoy non the less. I'll start with shots of all four sides of the board.

Then I did some close ups for some action shots, I'm very pleased with how the many corridors allow for a good amount of troop movement putting archers and ranged units at a disadvantage or advantage depending on the placement. I will definitely keep this in mind with the 3 additional add on boards in the future, which I'm hoping will make for a very entertaining game.

Again, amazing. The finished painting makes it look even better. Maybe some broken carts or other rubble will help even more with getting the ruined city feeling? If you make them removable you wont have issues while playing.

I absolutely want to look into that further, not sure if I should try to make my own or buy some since I've never had any experience with making them. But your absolutely right it would definitely give it a much deeper depth of battle ruins.

Beautiful board! It really captures the feeling of an ancient city, with so many different layers built on top of older layers. :yay:
Very motivating also for me to continue on my own Osgiliath board!

This board has turned out fantastically amazing! I think this would be perfect for playing Battle Companies on. Even at 2.5'x3', there are so many levels and the buildings and terrain are so dense it wouldn't be an issue not being 4'x4'.

This is really inspiring, if I were to do my own I think I'd just do foundations on the board for the buildings but allow them to be removed for storage sake. How do you store a board like this?

Also, may I ask for your address so I can come crash at your place and play non-stop SBG?

@metalface13 Thank you, and your absolutely right battle companies would work great for this, we did play a small game while it was being built and it was fantastic but we did cut the archers distance by half to make for a more challenging game. Also yes the all buildings are removable from the board for storage purposes the highest tower alone almost didn't fit on or shelves that we keep buildings in haha. I think I may need to expand my workshop though starting to get a little cramped.

Great work :) I would love to do something like that in the future... when I have more space, and maybe more time :-D

I plan on making this 4 boards all in all, 2 of which will be the River Anduin and the Fourth and final board I'm hoping to get the Dome of Stars on that one. Hopefully I get some more downtime soon to work more on it. As for Concepts I just finished the layout for the second board so pics of that will be up by the weekend.
