So I finished my first 350 +/- points of Mordor. I will be sure to post some pictures this week. I also started painting some rangers, faramir, damrod and madril :).

I also managed to pick up two new in box witch king metal on fell beast sets for 50EU. Does anybody got a good painting guide for painting a fell beast?

I think I followed the one found in either the Two Towers or RotK Journey books. It's been a while since I painted mine, so I can't remember if I use all of the suggested colors or if I improvised and added my own into it.

Yeah, that's the one. :) My plastic wings have a different texture though, so it was harder to drybrush the brown onto them.

So finally managed to take some pictures of my 350 points of Mordor. This force includes a ringwraith, shaman, banner, 12 morannon orcs and 11 orcs.

I found the Morannon Orcs okay to paint, but the regular orcs were quite difficult IMHO. Not per se the type of figure but more what colors to use. I played a match with them this friday and I won against my opponent who used 350 points of Isengard :).

However, as you can see I am still learning to paint and this my second attempt at it. Currently working on some rangers and I can see myself improving with regards to painting. Any tips/feedback is welcome! Especially some tips about how to get non-glossy figures. I know this is from using shading paints like nuln oil and agrax earthshade, but any tips are welcome!

Hey mate!

Good stuff and nice progress on painting up a 350 army!
As for the shiny/glossy figure issue, I've had the same struggles for a while and think I found a good solution that works for me.

I usually don't apply a silver base with a normal brush, but I drybrush it on the miniatures with an old brush. I leave a few 'stripes' from the brush strokes so that it looks rusty. With some Nuln Oil later and maybe even another drybrush silver layer on top it usually works out fine for evil characters.

I do have to say the shinyness doesn't bother me on your regular orcs, altough the morannon ones could profit a bit from it.

Keep it up! :)

So picked up the brush again recently and started with Durin's Folk!
I wanted to test out a paint scheme before I start on the rest of my dwarves.
I really like this colour scheme because it represents to me the colours of dwarves, cold, icy and iron(y).

Also did some work on my Rangers of Gondor, will show them off later!
