Hi Mally,
that is one seriously impressive Gundabad force which you painted there, I'm blown away by the high standard for all those guys! Really clean painting there, do you have some bigger pictures?
And could you tell me the recipe for the base colour? I love those, great job all around!
Best wishes,
Bennet

Bennett
Good to see you around still.
The metals are Scale 75 Metal n alchemy set. Superb metallics which have ultra fine pigments so the stand thinning perfectly.
These are based with Thrash Metal.
I'm pleased you like them but unfortunately no bigger pictures.

I can't stand batch painting, so I can't even imagine painting this lot and finishing it in a reasonable amount of time. If I did, they wouldn't look nearly as good as what you've done. Good job! :yay:

Glad to see you are still hard at work. Hope you are finding time to paint your own work between batches.

Girion and Warriors of Dale done to above table top standard. I did push Girion a little further as he's a great sculpt and the clients favourite figure.

Girion - "above tabletop standard".

How about "bloody awesome standard!" - looks great, well done. How did you do the stone-slab base out of interest?

Thanks - the base is a mold the client provided.

Girion looks great, I've always loved the 'is that a dragon I see' sculpt as you don't see non-combat poses that often.

Thanks Phil, it makes a big change to have figures like this.

Nice work Gandalf. I like the worn leather look of Girion's coat and great job picking out the different browns!

Ok, I've been busy as ever with jobs, cracking through the orders. Now this may not be everybody's thing but I did a very quick shield for an Uruk Hai. It helps with my commission work for table top standard to do things well, but have quicker methods.
All in all this took me 1.5 minutes to do and I think the effect works - well for me anyway.

So to start
Black primer
Now literally apply liberal coats, not concerned if you exactly cover everything as showing the lower levels helps the beaten up effect.
VMC Tinny Tin
Scale 75 Heavy Metal

Now stipple pure VGC Beasty Brown - the pure paint creates texture.

And that's it - heres the look

Looks great. Never thought to use a stipple brush or effect for rust, will try that next time I am rusting up some armor. Thanks for the free tip.

Thanks Sith. If you want to add to the rust then use a bright orange to stipple on top of the beasty brown. Trust me, it works.
