Greetings all!

After much procrastination and delay, I have finally gotten round to starting my own WIP! I am hoping to post up whatever I'm doing in the hobby at the moment, including conversions, paint jobs, tutorials, etc. You might even catch me running on about other things that interest me!

I would first like to give a special thanks to everyone here on this forum. You have all inspired me, and I owe a lot to all your amazing WIPs and tutorials! You have and will always continue to inspire and motivate me. I hope you will enjoy my own humble attempts at this hobby!

Constructive comments and criticism are much appreciated. I would love to hear your opinions! :)

Cheers,

Elladan

(I am a hobby butterfly, so please understand if I'm unable to update this WIP regularly.)

Great to see you getting involved in the WIP section. Now lets see that Tainted all painted up :-)

I've started work on The Tainted for this month's challenge. Finished the cavalry base last night. It's a swamp, with putrid pools of water and long tufts of grass. I made the tombstone out of Green Stuff using a piece of bark as a base. The textured mud is made with a mixture of Liquid Green Stuff and sand.

My dream is to paint up all the named Nazgul, except the Undying. I dislike the idea of his staff, and other than that there's not much else that gives character to the model. I am planning on converting my own Undying instead, based on Kurl Veranek's profile picture.

I will give all my Nazgul different terrain on their bases. The idea is that we are seeing them all over Middle-earth, each Ringwraith in his own landscape. I also plan to give each of them a unique symbol, which again helps to increase the distinction between them. Thus, The Tainted has a tombstone in a swamp, The Betrayer a snake in the desert, The Knight of Umbar a palantir on board a Corsair ship, etc. I imagined that the Tainted looks like he's in a burial shroud, so a tomb stone fits well with his character.

It's my first time to paint fire runes! The symbol stands for Elladan & Elrohir. Next I will post up my progress with the The Tainted on horse!

Thanks for looking, :)

Great looking base. Love the tombstone and the E&E symbol. Very cleverly thought out and executed perfectly

Great start on the Tainted's base. Picking the rune out, as you've done really draws the eye to it. Can't wait to see the rest done!

Dead Marsh Spectre: Thanks DMS! I highly value your opinion!

gondor's heir: Thanks man!

Ridgeback: Thank you my good friend! Your WIP is what first inspired me to touch Green Stuff, even if it's just a symbol on a tombstone! (I will experiment more soon!) I made the swampy pools by leaving them free of mud, then I basecoated them with a deep green, and finally created the goo itself with four thin coats of GW's Nurgles Rot, gradually building up the effect I wanted. Glad you liked it!

Kurl Veranek: Thanks for the link! There is some nice Middle-earth art there! I have saved the picture and will use it as a reference for my Undying. Not sure whether I will base the conversion off another(other) model(s) or sculpt form scratch. (I will have to practice sculpting then if I wish to succeed!)

Erunion: Thank you! I thought an empty rune would be boring, and Elrohir suggested doing a fire lava effect, so I tried it out!

orc-archer: Thanks! I wanted to to further distinguish the wraiths, and also have fun trying out all kinds of basing! First time doing a swamp.

Thank you all so much! I sometimes find it hard to separate myself from my work and look at it from the outside. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your great feedback! Working on the horse...

Cheers, :)

Elladan

Hi guys! :)

What a long time it has been! It's over a year since I was last here, and life suddenly swept me away from my beloved hobby. I have returned however, with a new name and membership, and this time I hope not to disappear again! You can see my new WIP here:

Thanks for asking a Hobbit! I have started a new project to help me get back into the hobby, but I hope to return to my Nazgul very soon. It would be shame to leave them half finished!

See you all over there!

Cheers,

Elladan (Now HD)

I really want to see the wraiths. I gave mine so much individuality but your base idea sounds awesome. Get on it.

Thanks Sithious! Will do! I have some work coming up but I will make time to get some progress on these guys. Your Ringwraiths have been a great source of inspiration to me. :)

Excellent idea for the base, despite the small scale, everything is clear and working fine by the aspect of the balance in the space given!

Hi all!

Sorry no update yet. I just came back yesterday from a preproduction trip to the Zambezi Valley, where we were working on a script for a film we are making. I now have a quite space, and I plan to unpack my Ringwraiths tomorrow. Maybe I could try entering this month's painting challenge! *Fingers crossed*

Thank you. I spent a long time planning it out, and I'm glad you think it turned out nicely!

That's a class looking base. I like the idea of individual unique bases for individual Wrairhs, and I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Keep up the good work.
