I love this scheme! Everything from the NMM to the design on the shield is superb. I have a lot of trouble painting white robes, especially a cold white like what you've done here. I'm very impressed!

Yes, white is definitely a challenge. But I have heard yellow stinks as well, I look forward to trying it in the future.

@Feanorthenoldor i have trouble with creating highlights and smooth blending on swords and other weapons. Have you any method for it?

Saying I have one method is difficult. Over the years, I have developed a way of painting different areas/textures differently.

For example, depending on the type of NMM armor, I will use relatively thicker consistency paints (2:1 medium:paint) to sketch the colors I want in. This is better than painting with more watery paints where everything goes everywhere. Then, I will create mixtures of the primary colors I sketched out and start to blend in between the colors. The method for blending I use here many times is using a stippling technique, making tiny dots. Kirill Kanev's video with Miniature Mentor shows this very well.

For cloth, I will sketch all my mixtures again onto the cloth surface. Then use that same stippling method to blend in between. It takes a while, but I am satisfied with results, it gives me the high quality I look for.

Hopefully that helps

Looks good, I like how bright everything is but it still has a lot of depth to it.

Yes, that was a trouble to create that contrast on a scheme which consisted of so much white. I wanted to create a scheme which mirrored many of the reference pictures I found for Aredhel. That being primarily white and very light blues.

Excellent work as usual, and thanks again for leading me to read some more of the Simarillion.

As always: your painting skills are exceptional! I'm quite jealous of those smooth colour transitions ;)

Hello all. I have advertised on my IG that I have created a patreon. In my patreon, I provide in-depth tutorials on my creative thought process for painting my miniatures along with how I go about painting them. My first two tutorials on painting a banner and shield are available for free.

I really appreciate all of your support through the 11 years I have been on this site, from getting feedback in my old days of frustration. That really helped to push me to improve my overall painting. So thank you.

Check it out if you would like!

Thanks again!

Gorgeous work! I will need to show my wife, she may want to be inspired by your color schemes.... even if our painting talents are no where near as your amazing ability. Respect!
