The blend on the sword is perfect, certainly shows how you've developed. NMM is also great, my only point is to reduce the white to a dot.

So I finished the undergarment, hair and large cloak. All that is left is to do the rest of the NMM, the boots, the face, the hands and the sword haha.

TBH, I am extremely disappointed with the pictures, they seem to literally flush everything out, especially the shadows, and the blending seems blotchy, which is weird because when you look at it, the blending is much smoother. Oh well, I don't think i'll be able to take good pictures.

@Dorthonion. It sure did. That's why I have this secret hope in me that one day someone will be able to recreate the Silmarillion on screen. Whether it would be a movie or a TV show. I just wanna see the huge battles haha.

So I'm basically finished with this guy. The only thing left is the helmet. I didn't paint it yet because I am thinking of adding a little bit of gold NMM for the cheek plates. The people of Finrod seemed to have gold and yellow colors in their attire.

For the cloak, I deepened the shades a little bit to add some more contrast.

Thanks Mally. I'm in the process of stripping some mini's to get ready for their prep.

More importantly though, your name, "Gandlaf." Was that just a typo?? haha

It would be cool to see a whole bunch of these in that scheme lined up.
Canny deny you that that is some fine painting work.

Wow! That is beautiful art work! I would ask if I could copy your scheme, but I lack the skills to reproduce such fine work. 8)

Thanks for the comments guys.

I just finished the last part of this warrior of Nargothrond prototype. The last part was obviously the helmet. I went for a golden cheek plate because I wanted some yellow or gold in this overall color scheme because the people of Finrod typically had some gold.

I have a question for you guys. Looking at this prototype, does anything, meaning color scheme, not seem in place. Tbh, I think everything looks alright, I think my main thing was doing the NMM on the helmet, which is a weird shape to paint anyways.

Tell me what you guys think.

Colour scheme looks good and all fits nicely. If you want to check how they fit then take a black and white photo. It will answer any contrast issues.
For the cheek guards, a mid tone glaze of Doombull Brown will help.

Looking really nice. 8) I will however give some feedback of my first impression when looking at it. The first thing I noticed, (other than that it's a beautifully painted figure) is that the face seems to stick out. I think it is because everything else is painted with such high contrast and sharp edge highlights, the skin looks a little flat in comparison. It's not so much that it is flat, but that it's painted in a different style than the rest of the figure, which makes it look flat, if that makes sense. I think a few very small/light edge highlights on the nose tip, cheekbones, etc, would help.

I also then noticed that the boots look a little drab too. It looks like a basic basecoat/wash/highlight job. I'm no good myself at getting boots to look really nice, as there seems to be no substance to highlight, no folds like on a cloak. I however think that they stand out a lot because most of the rest of the figure is a blue/silver bright colour. I also know that on a figure you want to figure out what the focus point will be and make the area superb, and then you shouldn't make everything pop just as much, or your focus will get lost in all the details. However, in this case I think it needs a little something more to stop it from being a distraction.

Wow, lots of words, and not a ton of them were super encouraging. I do really like the figure, and that NMM is great, much better than anything I could do. I just wanted to give some honest feedback as to what I saw when I looked at the figure to help push you to be the best you can. I know another perspective has helped me in the past when I can't see things that need improvement because I've looked at the figure for way too many hours already. 8) Keep up the great work! :D

Thanks a lot avenger!

I definitely agree with you about the face and the boots. I've been so focused on NMM this and blending that, but when it comes to the basics and easier stuff, I didn't spend too much time on it. Next one I'll do, I'll be sure to make that "face pop" haha. Same goes for the boots too.

Thanks!.

So, now that I have one factions color scheme down, I've decided to move on to another one.

Drumroll please..........

Maglor's House!

So, I did a lot of research of text and pictures to see what colors maglor usually wore, and it looks like his color scheme would have silver armor, with light blue, purple and black.

Here is the beginning of him.

Thanks for the comments guys.

So here's a little cloth color I tried out. The base color is purple and I highlighted up with blue. Not my smoothest blending, but hey, I haven't done too much cloth lately haha.

I'm still not sure what color I should do for the undergarment in the front of the figure. I was maybe thinking black. Any suggestions?
