After (rather a lot of) other distractions, finally some progress regarding my all-mounted Harad army. Three more finished models:

All three together:

And the full force as it currently stands. 500pts host organised in the front (with optional banner: either included at the cost of two Raiders, or left out). Some additional (mostly finished) models at the back: dismounted guys, the converted King and several Raiders to be included in the 700pts version of the list. Almost half of the smaller force is painted now, but plenty of work left to do...

I love it! :yay: The colour scheme works great and I love the third conversion.
Really looking forward to the sight of this army finished opposite to me!

Great poses and very good painting. Makings of an awesome raider force.

Many thanks guys, here some more: four guys partially painted before, but now finally finished (probabably took some 2 years...).

Some serpent riders:

And a raider. Only painted the late addition that was the bow&quiver on his back, but still: done now!

Six more guys that were merely rebased - again, not much work, but they're officially done now:

Example of an old base - these blend a lot better with nice desert tables...

All together! 13 in total, so more than half done for the 500pts list.

I'd love to have you make my army's mounted Haradrims' much needed conversions.
Good job!

Your haradrim knight is very inspiring work! really great and smooth sculpt and yet you kept it to the original level, amazing. I might try to copy you sir :D

Excellent work again! The colour scheme on the finished Serpent Guard looks very good!
The bases also look great! A big improvement. :)

Very nice work! 8) I really like the conversion work and paint jobs, great colour scheme and basing! I am really looking forward to the completed force...

As much as I also would have liked to see a 'completed' (if such a thing exists) Harad force, I just didn't feel like painting those guys at the moment. Instead, I finally gave some colour to other things that have been in urgent need of some paint for way too long now.

First 'Woldvagner the Wise' (Tre Manor sculpt, bought from his Red Box Miniatures line, nowadays sold by Hasslefree in the UK as 'Old Holvand'). Not a LotR model obviously, but the go-to guy for a Dunland shaman if I'm ever in need of one. Terrific sculpt.

Then two much faster paintjobs, two Moria Goblin prowlers I made a while back. Both used to be spear-armed, their axe blades were kindly donated by Khazad Guard (who, I thought, looked a lot better with a more realistic one-bladed axe).

Hopefully I can get some more stuff done in the next few days...

Great work on the Shaman and Prowlers

That dunland shaman is an awesome sculpt and you painted him very well. Great find of a model.
The prowler conversions are great. actually like that they are not on tip toes with huge axes, the crouched low with red eye look is way better.

wonderful work! the shaman looks fantastic and the colours you used for the goblins make them look very fierce and evil

Lovely paint job on the amazing shaman (I didn't know red box games had such nice miniatures)! What profile will you use him with? I really like the cloak, superb realistic with the colour variation! 8) Just regognized the gem, lovely detail!

The prowlersnlook great as well, I really like the second one, very creepy!

Those Raiders look great! i love the wicker horse armour rather than a stereotypical chain. That Dunland shaman looks wonderful - you've just tempted me to go buy it just to look at.

Thanks a lot guys, how lovely to get such a pile of nice comments.

Good point, not entirely intentional, but these are much more creepy crawly, i.e. goblinesque.

Hadn't actually thought of that yet, but going by the usual Shaman stats, I'd say something like this should work:

Dunlending Shaman 50 points
F_S_D_A_W_C__M/W/F
3_4_4_1_ 2_3 __1 3 1

Wargear: staff (two-handed weapon)

Magical Powers

Fury (Dunlendings only) 3+ Range 6"
Terrifying Aura 2+
(Second spell seems fitting, as both Saruman and Sharkey have it)

Well spotted, must be one of the first times I've painted one of those. Nicely subtle here, as it isn't visible from the front or back, only when looking from above.

Something very different now (again), though once more a piece that has been lacking paint for years already: a runestone! Produced by Fenris I think (got them off ebay all those years ago), based on a real one. While a faded paintjob may have fitted the worn look better, this seemed more fitting for an objective marker. For use with my Dark Age themed Rohirrim, or simply a game of SAGA.
