This story line has been mentioned before, many times - why didn't they just fly there and drop the Ring into the fire? It would have been a very short book... |

When they tried to do this Gwaihir said to Gandalf that the ring was to heavy for him to carry. Watch the end of the video (2.50) thats the most funny part in my opinion |
