It sold for £300 with £5 postage. So with ebays 10% fees the total is actually £274.50. That's not including paypal fees. So not a great deal by the seller. Their strategy didn't pay off

I'm all for people making a bit of cash but let's be honest the tactics these people are utilising are a little under handed. I love the smaug model and I know it's a little pricey but I would rather wait till after the Christmas period than have to take out a morgage to buy one before Christmas!

Look at the feedback for the smug auction. It didn't really sell

Has anyone else noticed how competitive Ebay has got for LOTR recently?

Is this an uncommon variant or nothing more than coincidental that a couple people are in need of it ?

Not really uncommon at all that guy.

It's really getting crazy now.
The original Sourcebooks are now going for big bucks.
...well, the seller wants big bucks anyway.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LOTR-Games-Work ... 2a4a2724f0
Seller has others priced equally outrageously too.

I have been seeing in print miniatures that sellers want more than GW.
...now who is the one abusing the limited market???

I feel pretty frustrated for sure.
I had a lot of extra Easterlings up on ebay.
Putting up lots of 12, split evenly between pikes, bows, and swords.
Priced them right at $1/each miniature, and they went for a couple bucks more.
And I am totally okay with that.
I did have a Mahud King that went for like $85, and a dozen Mahud w/Blowpipes go for $160.
I guess it's whatever the market will bear.

Not sure where this is going really, but I can't wait for all the formerly interested players to be divested of their underutilized miniatures and are gone from the marketplace. I feel like I am waiting for the complete death of the hobby so I can pick up missing parts for my own at a reasonable price.

complaining and ranting over, probably...

It's hard for sellers like me to give good prices when I can sell an army of Hobbits to the right buyer for $250.

And it only took me two weeks.

But yeah I understand the bs when people are charging more than retail for miniatures that are still out.

Has anyone noticed an ebay seller from Poland selling a lot of "rare" figures, does anyone think they are copies?

here is an example, there are loads of different ones

I can almost guarantee they are copies. I purchased from this seller once before and the stuff looks good but not legit.

I asked them last year from March-Feb about lists and pricing and the seller gave me a list saying they had dozens of rares and had like 4 rare rohan captains lol.

4........and there were like 36 guard of the galad court etc. A goofy list.

Possible, but not probably.

They are casts. I bought loads from them and can confirm what LOTBR has said above. Casts are pretty good in general and I was unable to tell until I bought Guards of the galadhrim court. They were the worst casts with the mail detail lost.

I am no expert however and some of you may more readily spot the imperfections.

i ordered about 60 minitures from her and got the rohan captain thrown in for free- though I already had one.

Yeah I keep my prices high but only at the high end of current rates reasonably. I see items like a metal oop soldiers not heroes for like $65-75 and I die on the inside a little.

Lately eBay has had some nice stuff.

I know there are quite a few people here who like the Mithril range and this seller is selling quite a few at a nice starting price:

Hey guys! At the beggining, I would like to welcome you all, cause this is my first post over here since I'm watching your topics :) Today I decided to register my own account and the main reason is to ask you a question - because of lack miniatures in my store I'm about to do my first shopping on eBay, and here is one thing I'm wondering about - are these prices good or not?
