I'll take some pics when I get home from work this evening. Unfortunately, I don't have any of the Dwarves. These were my first Red Box minis, and I am very impressed with the quality of the sculpts and casts. All of the minis that I bought were made for much smaller bases, so they tend to be narrow and tall, but they fit with what I'm going for. The features are much finer compared to GW's exaggerated style. They're all assembled but still just bare metal for now. It's been too cold/wet to undercoat anything.

I'm going backwards and filling my backlog even more! Today I picked up the following off Kijiji, paid $100 for the lot:

-Fellowship of The Ring starter minus the rulebook, which I have (24 Moria Goblins, 16 High Elves and 8 Numenoreans.)

-Sauron metal box still shrink wrapped

-Heroes of Helm's Deep box still shrink wrapped

-Glorfindel foot & mounted blister

-Elladan and Elrohir blister

-Isildur blister

-Fellowship Arwen blister

-Dwarf Kings blister

-Bilbo Baggins blister

-Mounted Boromir blister

-Cave Troll with spear blister

Pretty good haul for the price. I'll need to kick it into high gear to get these completed.

Question, is it only lotr/Hobbit figures that count? Reason being 44 Finnish WW2 figures have just been delivered from a kick starter I did last year!

I guess it just depends on what you want to do. If you consider all of your minis to be one big project then lump it all in. You would need to help figure out what minis count for, if you use other manufacturers.

I don't think that's unfair. If the point is to reduce the size of your backlog then I would say that you are doing exactly that, even if you don't purchase any minis that month. If you guys think we should have a penalty, we could divide the points by half, but I really don't think it's necessary. This is primarily just a fun way to motivate us to paint!


How about for those who purchase no miniatures for the month (such as me for next month as I am now broke :sad: ) have a target set of say 4 Models, and can work out their points based on that? It gives a good incentive for getting lots painted while keeping things fairer for those concerned about the "competition" portion of the oath.

The problem is I have a potentially huge order of models coming in next month, the month I'm also planning on finishing off the most amount of models I've ever painted also haha.

I'm an oathbreaker at this stage but hopefully this thread and seeing the work of others can help me turn it around :)

So I bought 89 minis! :x Far more than I was intending, but I got an amazing Kijiji deal and scored everything except the Grimhammers for $100! I calculated it out to be roughly $400 worth at retail, so I'm pleased.
