Very well illustrated, good choice of materials and a play-friendly piece that could be mass manufactured at little cost (except to mothers coathangers...) for a huge invasion of Osgiliath. 10/10 |

fantastic, all that's left is the conversions. i think the easiest one would be this:

just switch the axe for a long poll that just reaches the ground when he is in the craft and you have an orc ready to guide it with his long pole

It’s funny to see how others find solutions for certain modelling problems. The carving you did on those planks… it reminds me of carving all the individual ‘beams’ on my miniature of The Green Dragon. It took some time – and a few experiments - before I realized that you need to carve a grain-pattern on every beam in order to make them look like real wood. The ones you modelled for the ramp are just looking fine! Authentic stuff. And a great paint job as well (I’m a lover of black & grey paintwork as you must have guessed by now). Now who’s going to build the Osgiliath Bridge? Well done, Lorderkenbrand. If there’s something to invade in lotrsceneryworld, I’ll let you know. |

There are things that I learnt whilst making the craft that would have made the appearance more realistic as pointed out by lotrscenerybuilder. The ramp was the last stage I came across and by then I had carved most of the plank sections. The difference if you look closely is that the horizontal planks are more rough looking than the rest of the wooden beams. Well spotted. I sure hope I can invade something in lotrsceneryworld one day lol, were is it you are situated again?

thankyou, I need to build a 'raft' for a necromunda game and have been experimenting with card etc and coming out with poor results (as anybody who saw my first attempt will vouch) However now you have done it for me. THANK YOU!!!! (I only hope mine will look as good as yours) |

A very nice model! Well done, lorderkenbrand! I love the way you made these wooden beams look old. The last picture, with Gothmog and Osgiliath in the background, is the best of all; it could have been a picture upon a boxed set of Orc-Invaders. A great article to read too.
