I'm actually a little bit surprised he's still in stock, with the mad rush going on in the first hour when he came back I was sure he'd be gone quickly. Wonder how many are remaining?

Somewhat surprising indeed, although I don't know how much the return was advertised. Was it mentioned in the latest White Dwarf for example? Don't think I saw it mentioned online anywhere until it was actually back in stock, so others may also simply be unaware of it.

I think people just don't realize he's back. I didn't know about it until I saw this thread.

Amazed so many crazy people around (like me) that he's out of stock so soon.

He's still available on the US website. I wonder for how much longer? Just ordered mine.

And still on the NZ site too. Nonetheless, GW were a bit slack sending me the notification that he was back in stock as that email only came in a couple of hours ago.

I wonder if Dragon Fever is due to a general concern for the longevity of GW engagement in this area (i.e. get it before it and the rest of Hobbit / LOTR is OOP forever) or more general continuing enthusiasm. This relates to the other thread on the choice of Finecast vs. Plastic reply from GW wrt the BOTFA releases. Frankly, I would buy a lot more of each if I it was available in plastic and I knew it was going to be around long enough to get what I need. Seems GW internal market forecasts are off once again.

Surprisingly he is still available on the us website... I hate the fact that their minis' stock is now country specific; and they won't ship out of the country if you purchase an item on a different country's web store :(

I'm going to have to hope that he comes back in stock here and there over these next 2 years...I really want him but have so many other priorities...like building my Angmar army...We'll see. For now, the beast has returned to its slumber.

My Smaug arrived today. Lovely model, but had no right wing, only two left wings. I'm a little pi$$ed off to be quite honest. Can't wait to hear GW's explanation for it.

My came today as well; mine also has a defect his tail is tacky and rubbery...clearly the resin did not fully mix and cure. I too will be calling GW.

At least these issues seem to be more like artefacts of the rush to produce more Smaugs than errors that would be frequently repeated.

After talking to GW, it sounded like they were going to send me a whole new model. Their exact words were "we will be happy to send a replacement to you", even though I only asked for the missing wing, and in the past when they've told me "replacement" I get a whole new model. With any luck, I might be able to convert a dead dragon after all this gets sorted.

:D The bonus of GW customer service. I bet you will be one of the few people to have a dead smaug as I can't think anyone would be crazy enough to buy one just for that.

hmmm...mine was tacky but after washing it is now fine. I assumed it was just releasing agent, seemed to wash off with warm soapy water.
