In all seriousness, before, when I still thought he would be a cool piece to play, I was going to use this purple one, paint over it, and remove a set of eyes:

This body looks very close imo but not a good scale. Longer than, but shorter than a Mumak.

I have made a rough measure of the beast using the mac keyboard as a reference against my own. I would put that model as 6 inches in height (to the top of the head) with a wing span of roughly 15-18 inches.

*EDIT* I think if GW doesn't make a model, this one will do very nicely.

I don't think the head of that thing looks much like smaug. Great model though.

If you google the artist you can fine more of his stuff. Would hope GW's turns out something similiar.

I'm trying to figure out the potential sizes for both the Smaugs coming from Weta - http://www.theonering.net/torwp/2014/07 ... ur-part-1/

They may be an option if December bears no fruit, depending on price.

The price for the kit is 349 plus shipping which is 35 usd within the US and 49 worldwide. The size is 28 inches long 19 width and 10 inches tall.

Indeed its not exactly the same... the arm on the original movie version the arms are thicker with muscle and a bit shorter wise..
