WHAT?!?! THEY WANT US TO PAY HOW MUCH? That's a 33% decrease in price, for a 50% decrease in models! This is insane!

This my friend is Games Workshop. Best not to get to hung up on it and just suck it up and go buy a box of twelve miniatures for two weeks wages lol

I've been following the forums of this site for quite some time, but the frustration of this release has caused me to make an account so I can join in! LOL
Here in Canada it's $26.75, absolutely ridiculous. I remember when it was $25 for 24 models. Anyways, as an Isengard player, I'm pretty upset that they didn't have the decency to at LEAST give us 12 models in the Fighting Uruk-hai set.. I mean, I understand that the pikes take up sprue space, but I thought this may be the one chance to even things up!
I'll be asking my local GW what's up and see if I can get any info.

Overall, I am really, really not impressed and hope that there is more coming for some kind of redemption! New poses at least!

What I've always wish they would do, was make mini plastic sets of eight (of one troop choice). So like, buying 8 plastic swordsmen, or 8 archers. That way it would be convenient for both SBG and WotR. Then they would also be able to release sets for troops that are currently metal (oh how I would love a plastic set of dunlendings)!
But I know that is way far-fetched and GW would never be so polite as to doing that. :)
(Unless they incorporated another horrendous price increase..)

I agree. The Hobbit minis likely won't get any rules for a mass battle system. I'd be ok with an increase of about 1 dollar, seeing as they would need to pay for the new packaging, but 5 bucks?!?!? That's insane.

Oh my gosh...$22.25 (US) for 12 guys? To get the same amount as before, you've have to spend $44.50! That's an increase of $11.50! It didn't hit me as hard as it did when it was written in GBP. It's about a 35% increase in prices (forgive me if my math is off). That's just ridiculous.

aahahhaha go ebay my friend! there is a lot of mini's there, i almost bought 100 mini's for 23$ yesterday   but someone bid for them at the last minute :-X

Nah, I'm almost definitely sticking with just historicals now, with the odd LotR purchase for painting purposes.

The prices are becoming a bit of a joke, £31 for a Gondor trebuchet is an awful amount of money for what you get, Will certainly be looking on ebay for all my models!

I ordered a biox of Easterlings (as the store was out of stock) on Wednesday, but today it has been cancelled. Great [sarcasm]

Amazon is also pretty good. With shipping, it used to be about the same as GW, but now that these are so expensive, Amazon is about 10 bucks cheaper.

I have bought things from Amazon in the past including a box of Khandish horsemen for about £10 (which is a 1/3 of their current price)

I love ebay too, but to speak to the frustration of being outbidd....

It is probably everyone in this community that is constantly outbidding one another ;). I sometimes think of posting links to good deals about models, but then my mind goes "NO! Competition for minis!" ;). All in good humor though.

This brings memmory of the time the OOP 3rd Lurtz was on Ebay and someone posted it up and my $2 near victory (because the seller labeled it poorly) went to a $33 grumble.

I half agree with Mr. Necromancer7, only i think that if GW revamped the moulds and let us have multi-part plastics with more options, I wouldn't have as much of a problem with the increase as it would keep lotr kits on balance with 40k and fantasy.

Well, looks like I'll be getting more minis anyway.....or I could take up another expensive hobby, like musical instrument making or bike racing. :p

You're right the Goblin paint set is now very good value. And you can still by MoM now, but DezartFox works at GW so if he says it will be cancelled, then I believe him.
