Great moment to revive this, what with the OR 'best thread' competition and all that.
But more importantly, great to see this back, more glorious than ever before. Amazingly atmospheric pictures, well done. :yay: 8)

Awesome! I kinda hoped Merry was dead because it would make an interesting change to the story...

Thanks for the comments! @Hill-Troll, Merry seems to have a death wish, and one of these days our wound-saving throws will fail. But for today's miracle survival, blame my friend and her lucky dice rolls :)

@VandalCabbage, the Fellowship firmly fights for freedom from finicky tentacles!

@Éomund, I know how you feel - after all, it's just me and my friend. I'm hoping we can recruit more players for the mass battles ahead. It would be great to have even half of the crew Dr Grant had at Helm's Deep!

I think anyone on these boards who lives anywhere near where you are playing would be more than happy to help (I'd offer but it's a bit too far for me  )

Welcome back, an awsome inspriation as always

Glad to see it back in swing!

Can't help but cheer for the fellowship as they are the good guys, and the more they win, the more of these we get to see!

All Hail the Fellowship, past their first hurdle!

Great report as usual. Keep them coming. I especially like how you switch Minis for the photos.

I too am glad Merry survived! Rooting for the good guys! As it should be. They've got a hard enough task coming up in facing the watcher and then Moria

Another brilliant battle report, Ive been enjoying your campaign and WIP threads since long before I joined here, in the lurking days :) I think the focus on more of a narrative approach than all the specific details about dice rolls and stuff really helps bring these reports to life, I felt genuinely worried for a minute there when Merry got injured!

Again, thanks for kind comments!

@Lord Maedhros: switching minis adds more complexity to photo sessions, but we think the result is worth it. I'll keep doing it throughout the campaign from now on.

@KathaariaRandall: glad you like the narratives - they do include subtle hints about usage of might or fate points, but otherwise we feel it is not important to cite all dice rolls - who cares whether Legolas misses by throwing a one or two; a miss is a miss...

Brilliant! The way the poses of the characters change from one scene to the next make this almost like watching an action packed animated report! Loving it :D

Thanks! I thought it was worth it to spend a couple of months to paint the alternate heroes. The fellowship members are featured in so many upcoming scenarios, that it would have been boring to see them always in the same poses. It kinda felt right to have alternatives for the campaign and the style we are aiming for in the batrep photos.

I would walk to Finland to help you with your Helms Deep scenarios on what I'm sure will be an unreal board when it's ready! Unfortunately though, I live in Ireland and that would mean some swimming and I can't manage that!!

Seriously though keep up the great work and you have inspired me to work towards hopefully doing a similar campaign myself. I've done out a list of miniatures and terrain that I need for it in chronological order and its given me a focused method for getting through my painting backlog. Now nevermind the extra help that you require, I just need to find one person to play it with!!!

Fantastic! So pleased to see another battle report. The UV light really gave a sense of twilight, although looking at them too hard hurt my eyes!

Looking forward to the next instalment, and of course, the one after that! :D
