yep I had my first ever game last night and really enjoyed it. the game seems a lot easier than i thought it was going to be.I just need my luck with the dice to improve now ... was throwing plenty of ones

. Hmmm so there may well be some battle reports from me in the future

Played our second game today. My ~640pts of Gondorian Soldiers held out amongst the crumbling stone walls of a ruined fort against DMS's 800pts of Isengard Uruk Hai. My Avenger Bolt Thrower racked up a large number of kills (around 15) before his Uruk Hai reached my Shieldwalls in the breaches and gates of the Walls and massacred my Men. (seriously I was losing at least 3 men every turn once he got into combat proper).

That battle report is absolutely wicked!!!!!! @King Ondoher - we will definitely have to replay that scenario and this time I'll bring a camera!!!

I can't stress enough how much I hate that darned avenger bolt thrower, every time it rolled its dice I had to shut my eyes it was massacring my entire force. Next time will be different........FULL SCALE ATTACK!!!!!

I once, did a battle again Eothen(Jorn). We played on a long field, he had a dwarf bolt thrower. I fielded goblins and he the dwarves. Half of my army was almost death by the time they got there. They were so slow, and the archers couldn't pierce dwarf defence.. That was a massacre!

Just thought I'd mention for those of you who struggle finding the right varnish for your painted miniatures as I have done for years........ struggle no more !!!!!!
Vallejo matt varnish ... excellent stuff!!! Just varnishing my entire Uruk-Hai collection and they've coming out the other side fine, no problems at all

Need to get these done and dried for 2moro night for 2moro Isengard is going to war!!!!!!!!

You used the brush on stuff? You just brushed it on straight from the can, making sure not to put it on too thickly?

Battle Report is up and finished. Next week we'll either be starting a Battle Companies campaign or trying out the club's new Warbands rulebooks.
