Well since my last non-lotr thread went to trash due to lack of activity I'll start another and I'll try to update it more often ;)

Here's a mini I picked up last week at my local hobby shop. I'm not into 40k at all gamewise, and in terms of modeling I've been interested only in SM, but when I saw this mini I had to buy it. One of most wicked minis I saw lately.

I tried to stray from standard Dark Angels Green looking Ork Skin and tried something different. How it turned out?? That's question for you ;)

The skin is looking pretty good. I'm always a fan of the more subdued Ork skin tones. Excellent job on the Weirdboy's *ahem* weird eye.

That is one freaky looking eye right there.

Can't wait to see more progress.

They sure are ace. Though chains on this one could be a bit better, those right now are a bit to stiff and look unnnatural.

So another update with today's progress. That leather vest stil needs couple of highlight layers and maybe 2-3 filters to turn out nice. But it all would be done after weekend (I'm going back home for the weekend ...not realy sure why :D )

I've got to say that this model change my point of wh40k view :D I loooove Orks, Waaaaagh :D

This model is great and I had so much fun painting it. Here are tome pics I took yesterday, though I'm out of my camera temporarily again, so I had to use my cell..

I'm still thinking about highlighting 'bone' elements a bit, plus I hace to come up with something for base, some metal trash perhaps ;)

Haha for shame man, do Hasslefree Adventurers instead. You know you want to ;)

As for the wierd boy, man you have a good cellphone! Top-notch blending as usual. The subtle laying on the blending is jaw-dropping. I still have a ways to go till I can match your skill!

The finished piece looks very, very nice. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Does this mean we'll be seeing the start of an Ork army soon?

I don't think so ;) I'm not a player so there will be no point of that ;) Though I may ocasionally paint something to get break from Lotr, and maybe list it on eBay for a couple of shinny ones to finance Lotr ;)

Very nice work, I had never realised that there was so much going on at the back of this mini. Though I love Orks I can't see me ever doing this one just because of that reason.
The mini is far too busy for me but you have done a wonderful job of it.

Yeah That mini is a mess. I took me a while to figure everything out, friend of mine still jokes that even after seeing it painted, he still can't recone where this mini begins and where it ends ;)
