Welcome to the September Painting Challenge, this month you have chosen

WARGS

Image

Rules
If you are unsure as to whether something will be eligible for entry, just post asking or PM me and I will let you know whether or not you may use it.

A maximum of 1 miniature can be entered in this challenge. WARGS WITH RIDERS ARE ACCEPTABLE.

1.To complete the challenge a miniature must be completed by September 30th.

2. To enter the painting challenge, the miniature you are painting must not be painted before starting and picture proof must be shown of the miniatures 'pre-painted' (unprimed, undercoated or if you are repainting and old miniature - in its' original paint scheme) otherwise your entry will not be eligible.

3. You may join the painting challenge in progress at any time, but must submit photographs of the completed miniature by midnight GMT of September 30th 2013. WIP images are welcomed and encouraged. A maximum of 4 photos per model of your completed entries please, this allows you to show your miniatures off from multiple angles.

4. Miniatures that are completed in time will be eligible to win the challenge. The challenge winner will be decided by the vote of the OR community. The community will choose one winner and one runner-up from the completed miniatures. Votes should be cast not simply on painting skill, but on merit, including creativity, application of painting techniques, artist improvement, etc. There is no prize available for the winners of this challenge, the challenge is solely for community participation and as an incentive for people to reduce their backlog and improve their painting skills.

5. Winners from the previous month are able to participate in the next months painting challenge, but they are not eligible to win in consecutive months.

Good luck to all

I am going to paint 2 Wargs and enter the one of them, here is my base coated (in U.S. Olive Drab base coat by Vallejo)

Have not painted any LOTR figures for a few weeks, due to a lot of Judge Dredd and Bolt Action figures being painted.

Looking forward to it!

I have never painted a warg before so I thought I'd give it a go!

Wow, only 4 entries by the 17th? I guess everyone's a little painted out from the frenzied month of dwarves!

Here's my entry Fimbul or Yazneg

Image

I was hoping to get these guys done in good time for once but they're only based and shaded so far with 2 weeks to go so I'm up against it again!

Good luck all!

I've finished painting my Sharku but have put him aside for a week or so. That way I can look at him again with fresh eyes and decide if he needs any more work before entering him.

I've started on Yazneg, but I only have till the end of the week to do him and I have other things to do so might not get him done.

I live in a tiny shared flat, all my hobby stuff is in my mothers house (my younger brother is also into the hobby). I'm only there once a week usually.

My first warg. I'm pretty happy with how he turned out.

I've noticed Jarhead using this colour as a basecoat on his Massive Voodoo blog.
http://massivevoodoo.blogspot.co.uk/

I suggest you look at it for the way he's doing the highlights. Although there were skin tones in there I think it could give you some ideas.
It's the diorama with around 100 figures on it !!!

Thanks G, I am away on holiday for a few days and only have mobile Internet access and can't get this link to work, will have a look when I get back. Needless to say I have brought my paints with me and work is progressing nicely on the Warg and a few dozen Bolt Action WW2 soldiers.
