My humble entry. Layering was going wonderfully until I actually hit white. Other main problem is that there are bumps all over the model from where I tried to scrape off the previous paint job. Ah well, at least I entered.

@Jamros I like it, he is Saruman the White after all. The basing looks good too, as a gamer, not just painter, I really appreciate functional pieces that dont run into rule complications like line of sight and such on ornate bases where the model's height has often been changed.

I'm obviously horrendously late to the party and there's very little chance of me getting them finished now but here's my proof pic, gonna try and paint them both and then pick the best one to submit

Although, on the other hand, it's a white painting challenge and people have said they'd be swayed by the amount of white used so...I win?

Thanks! The only problem is, I only just remembered my mini doesn't have his Kingsguard cloak on, so he doesn't have all that much white on him  . And sculpting one on isn't up to my skill level by a long shot (I'm rather sad with greenstuff). Sorry  .

I managed to find some time to finish Gandalf's base, so I have now completed my entry:

Image

This was my first time painting with white, and my first grassy base, I am quite happy with how they turned out :)

And here is my proof pic, although it is terrible quality, taking it in front of the screen made the miniature very dark in comparison, but you get the idea.

My final entry, just in time. Didn't have time to finish the arms and the outer cloak as neatly as I would have liked, but here we go anyway:

Just in time! Wonder if anyone else will sneak in this late. Here's Grinnah the goblin captain as promised:

Hope he's white enough!

I'll be sneaking in about 11:30! :-) Much against my expectations I managed to get both of mine finished in time and can't decide which to enter! I've put pics up in my WIP to canvass opinion and then I'll make the call at the last minute! Great work by everyone so far, nice to see such a good range of minis!

slight change of plan...I decided on a lurtz on a white warg instead or galadriel as planned. The majority of Lurtz is produced with green stuff...pretty pleased with him in the end.

Good luck everyone, there are some very good entries!

OK so at the 11th hour I've made a decision, whilst I think my Sharky is better painted, Saruman is far more 'white' and so more in keeping with the competition. As I was painting I was planning on entering Saruman all along, it was only at the end I had doubts, so here're my pics:

As an aside I think this has been a great theme, I really, REALLY hate painting white and so it was good to be challenged. I still don't think I'm getting it right yet but I think it's an improvement over my last attempts so hopefully I'm on the white track

Well done all, I look forward to the voting!

Damn, because of something with photobucket, my pictures aren't visible in my last post. :o They're still are visible if you click the not-showing pictures, but I can't establish a working link to them.
Will they still count if I post them here again?
I used a different photobucket account:

Hi all. I'm just jetting off on hols for a week and no idea what the internet connection will be like so, alas, may well not be able to vote depending on when DMS puts the poll up - good luck to everyone, there's some really nice work as always this month!

Cheers all

Dr G.
