Decide on a miniature to paint for the January challenge - it will be a shorter challenge this month as i ddidn't realise that we didn't have one sorted for ths month. Painting deadline will be 31st jan so we are back on time for February. Sorry for the delay posting.

Well as I've already started my Goblins and Goblin King, it's got to be one of Thorin's Company - I plan on painting them anyway :) (at some point :P)

I'd be happy with the Goblin King, White Council or Thorin's company! Even Hunter Orcs if it includes characters!!!

I went with Thorin's Company, give the most variety for people to choose.

In brief, a miniature (or several) is chosen every month. All members then have the rest of the month to paint a picture according to the theme.
You must post a 'proof pic' of your unpainted model first. You are then free to share your progress in steps or just post the finished article. All this happens in the allocated thread.
At the end of the month, all the pictures are put together by a Ringwraith (usually DMS, though Red Corsairs used to do it), and placed into a thread with a poll, which runs for 7 days or more. People vote which miniature they like the most and the winner is decided. No prizes though. :)

Hope this helps.

So a new thread will be opened and you have to post your unpainted there and then your painted one?
Well, it sounds like fun :)

Yes I'll post a new thread in a couple of days when the poll runs out and a miniature for the challenge is decided. Proof pic of your unpainted miniature should be posted in there and as Highlordell says feel free to post any work in progress and eventually your finished piece in that thread.

Welcome to the One Ring and good to see you in the challenge.

I voted hunter orcs. I got some that need painting plus I have already started my favourite dwarves and goblins.

I went for the dwarves... plenty of diversity and detail :-D 8)

Would have gone for the goblin king because of the sculpting challenge but I think they would have all been a bit same-ish

Dwarves. I really need to get kicking on them. But House Lannister will probably provide ample distraction, I fear.
