Here is my Sauron. I bought it as a used, painted figure, but at least it was cheap.
Now I began to fix it, and wash the old paint. I will also get a 60mm base, cause I will use him in WOTR.
More pics in my WIP.

@Red Corsairs, I think I sent you a pm about the base, but I'm not sure if I did. So I'll just ask here just in case. Is the base I used eligible for the competition? I'm not the one that put the stuff on the base, but I painted it. I'm hoping that it is, because I put a lot of effort into it, but if it isn't that's fine.

Comments and criticism welcome!

Mind if I steal your Sauron PoW? It's awesome, and it's our birthday (not really, but if it gets me PoW's Sauron  ) and we wants it precious.
On a more serious note - that is an incredibly well painted Sauron. Love the lighting effects on it.
Just read the top of your post - that's a WiP?!!!! Are you sure!! It looks amazing already!! More like a finished model than a WiP.

I don't like the light on the back, I just don't get where it's coming from. The rest of it's amazing.

Love the underglow effect, PowerOfWill. I've always wanted to try that, but haven't found the right opportunity.

Well, I can't find a Sauron anywhere and don't want to spend over $50 for it. So here's the beginnings of my own Sauron.
Let's see how far I can get on it! :D

Elf for scale. Wish me luck! 8)

Wah Wing, it will be really interesting to see a home-made Sauron. We want lots of updates! 8)

Here is my Sauron:

I'm not sure if he's finished or not. I'd like to add a nice display base with the spare Elendil and Isildur that came with the box. I'm not sure if I have time to build anything like that, but we'll see.

Wow, superb looking sauron pasi...I really like the spark of gold from the ring, it helps to break up the mini a bit. But the armour is what really makes it. Seeing as he is mostly armour if it isn't good, it kills the figure, but seeing as yours is so great, it just makes it all the better. Are his eye's painted gold, or is there gold around them, I think I can see a hint of it on the right eye, but that might just be some rust effects....

Thanks for the comments guys! He's finished now, I just wanted to tidy it up a bit, and paint the rim of the base, but unless I want to change something, he's done. I'll get some pics up soon.
Meanwhile, I can't wait to see what Wah Wing comes up with. I've thought about sculpting Sauron too, but it was mostly just wishful thinking. Valpas' Sauron looks great! The armor is really smooth, and the ring is very well done. :yay:

Thanks for the kind comments! The eyes are painted with the same colours as the Ring, i.e. orange over dark red base, white highlights and yellow glaze (no metals at all). I just noticed that in the photo it looks like there is a black pupil painted on his left eye. I swear I did not paint it there and it does not really exist. :-)

PowerOfWill, that Sauron of yours looks really good, I admire anyone who can paint directional light and make it look right. I noticed that the chainmail in the front is a bit flat, maybe an extra wash would bring some more contrast between the chain links? Other than that, awesome job!
