Post subject:  Posting pics from the gallery

I've been having trouble posting pictures from the galleries in the forums. I've searched around for the solution but haven't been able to find it so if someone could clear it up I would be helpful. Thank you in advance.

The galleries are not supposed to be used to post pictures in the forums. You only have a certain ammount of slots (so you will have to delete them frequentelly and that means that the links will not work for long and they also take a huge chunk of space on the server).

It's best if you use storage sites like photobucket or imageshack. They are reliable, totally free, allow you to organize albums and give you the code you need to post pictures in different kinds of forums and blogs. Some also allow you to resize pictures and use thumbnails.

Check this thread for an example.

So does this mean that you have to have Photobucket, or some other image hosting site to post pictures onto the forums? Or is there another way?

If you have a Facebook account you can use pictures from there I'm guessing that MySpace and all those work fine too. The same goes for blogs or Picasa albums.
You can also host the pictures in your site, if you have one.

In any situation, you just need to copy the link of the picture and paste it inside the tag .

It really needs to be a third party site if you want them to show straight in the post (instead of just the link). The galleries don't seem to work that way, for some reason.

I've been using Imageshack for years and dont really see any inconvenient. It's reliable and totally free.
