Possibly out of control, yes. We all suffer a bit from this.

Please lie down on the couch and tell me about your childhood...

As many others have said, "And I thought MY collection was huge!"
Well done for getting so many painted. I guess you must really enjoy it.
I'm painting up a load of WoMT at the moment (150 to take my total up to 300). I've also lots of other 'large' armies, but nothing like the scale that you're talking! Amazing!

There is hope for me - good to see some other people believe in the real massed combat philosophy. I really must try for an all in one photo if I can find all of them... and a space big enough.

The fact that you have some a great collection is very neat...

The fact that they are all painted is crazy!!!!!

With all games combined I doubt I could come up with half the number of models, and I in no way could claim that they are all painted.

Hats off to you friend, that is amazing. You really should line them all up and send a pic into white dwarf.

Updated my lists today. I recently purchased a great Angmar army on Ebay, so this added several more Mordor orcs to my forces. I also got my Goblins (48 blackshields, 64 armored goblins, 4 trolls, Drake, Dragon).

I have a large Dwarf army soon to arrive and I sent off a massive Mahud army to Dragon to paint.

Yet, since last update I have only played WOTR once! I am looking forward to Saturday, I get to finaly do a game again, Moria vs Erebor!

This is insane

I don't want to imagine the cost of purchasing and out-sourcing the painting for such a massive collection. I really like some of their painting ideas. For example the white banner of Gondor, or their conversions.

I got back on this topic after the WOTR 2ed topic..

You've got an awesome collection that's for sure.. How did you pay for all of it? If you outsourced the painting as well?
Don't you like.. have a morgage..? I'm very jealous. off course haha

Wow insane! Just epic. I can't image how much this all would have cost. Probibly as much as the GDP of Nauru :D

Jesus man I wish I had your money. Nice collection though and nice paint jobs!

Where in the world do you store this by the way? Have your own room for it all?

I have not updated my lists, but I am sure that I am now over 7000 figures. I now have every single army in the books, to include a very large Arnor army.

With that said, I have not added many of the new figures yet. I have added a unit of 32 Grimhammers, a unit of 12 Rivendel Cavalry, and a have 32 Wood Elf Guards ready to go, but I doubt that I am going to add the new Dwarves or other Wood Elves.

I am waiting to see what the third film holds before getting any of the Laketown men or any Gundabad orcs. However, when they do come out, and it is positive that they are the troops at the Bo5A, then I plan to build both a Laketown and Gundabad army. I am thinking that my Dale figures might be able to be used as Laketown Auxiliaries.

By the Way, here are a few other posts of mine with photos of my troops:
