I see, it looked to me like shorthand for 'giraffe' at first.

Cool, just try it from the back of a galloping horse before you say whether it's hard or not.

Well, I've never fired while in gallop, but I have tried in draff or how it is called in english. It's way harder than on foot, but I still got bullseye once.

I think it's canter or trot, but I don't know which one of the two.

And if it's not all that hard to fire a bow from horseback, it shouldn't be that hard to swing an axe from horseback too, especially if you have a well-trained horse.

But that was my original point! And it goes walk, trot, canter, gallop. Both my sisters ride horses, so some of their knowledge rubbed off on me.

okay, well, my point was the fact that firing a bow from horseback isn't that difficult.

Then it's a canter.

And I know it was your original point, I was replying to mastermanje.

My point was that people seemed to think of firing from horseback like mission impossible

Which it really is if you're wearing armor and are cantering towards a moving target.

Wait a minute, I say "It can be done" and you say "That's my point" and then you say "It can't be done". I don't get it.

No, my point is that it can be done, but it's MUCH harder than manje is making it out to be and requires years of training and dedication.

But they're not riding an 800 pound animal that's running 30 mph.

Okay, well, not all horseback archers wore armor, but I'll try to train myself on moving targets. I'll post pictures when I'm good enough
