I would be inclined to agree with you. This is what some of the key elven units should cost:

Wood Elf Warband 25pts +5 for bows/glaives
Galadhrim Regiment 30pts +5 for shields
Galadhrim Archers 35pts
High Elf Regiments: 35pts
High Elf Archers 40pts
Galadhrim Knights 35pts
Mirkwood Sentinels 35pts
High Elf Cohort 40pts
Galadhrim Court Guards 35pts

I'd go the other way and give all Elves +2D and +1S, but the points costs are about correct, as far as I'm concerned.

I never heard of anyone increasing Elves Stength and Deefence before, but it is a nice alternative idea, as is the 'strike before others of the same type' houserule

Thanks. To me, the WOTR book intro says "they march to war clad in armour to rival the best dwarf-mail, and wield their swords with a grace and agility beyond the measure of Man or Dwarf" (or something along those lines), so it only makes sense to make that true. I like the "strike before others of the same type as well" as well, but it just doesn't feel right for me.

Haha yes it does seem strange after reading that, that the elves Defense is soooooo poor!

Ah... the mysteries of the descrepancy between GW-written fluff and GW-made profiles...

Two (probably more like ten, but anyway) teams making one book. Lovely.

Agree with you Master Telchar, I do.

Anyway, I'm updating it as I decided Gothmog needs his trusted lieutenant:

Guritz Epic Hero pts: 105
F S D A R C Mt
4/- - - - 2 4 3

Epic Actions:
Epic Cowardice, Epic Rage, Epic Barrage

Epic Barrage - Guritz may call an Epic Barrage in the Shooting Phase. If he does so his formation may reroll all failed To HIt rolls for shooting attacks until the end of the turn (note this does apply to Artillkery as well)

Special Rules:
If he is with 12" of Gothmog, Guritz's formation automatically passes all Courage Rolls and is Steadfast on a 4+

Do you really think Mordor needs more undercosted heroes?

And some fluffy critics, Guritz sounds like the name of the dictator of Uzbekistan, not an orc, and Epic Ammunition made me laugh (no offense, it just sounds so funny, and orcs shouldn't be funny).

I didn't intend to make him as undercosted. I will increase his price.

Guritz is not a name I made up, it is this guy:

http://lotr.wikia.com/wiki/Guritz

I couldn't think of a better name than Epic Ammunition, if you can think of a better name, I would be open.

How about epic fluffy rabbits? When making a shooting attack lots of rabbits appear confusing everyone allowing the attacker to re roll?

NLJT, you have killed me.

Telchar, Epic Salvo sounds a bit modern, but then we do have gunpowder and crossbows. It can go in the pool.

That would kind of ruin Guritz's reputaion as the cruel and black-hearted loyal lieuteneant of Gothmog.

By the way, the 'Epic Ammunition' (which I'll call it until I have something better) is meant to represent the bit where he shouts "Catapults!" in that screachy voice, suggesting he has some control over long range.

Why? You can salvo sticks and stones if you wish so. The Mordor war Catapults certainly salvo, as do the archers of all nations except the Uruk-Hai.

For lack of anything better, I will agree with you. At least for now.
