Can anyone recommend good places to buy natural (hills, trees, etc.) scenery from? I was thinking perhaps ebay but I don't want risk getting the wrong scale stuff. Oh, and I live in the UK. 8)

Best scenery in the business if you ask me. Unfortunately he is in the states but given the quality that shouldn't bother you. :)

That is outrageously overpriced.

I would completely agree with donuthare, make your own scenery. You can make good scenery from almost anything and the best part is it's good fun! You could be saving e.g. over 60 quid by not buying one of these professional scenery pieces.

Maybe I'll try that. I've attempted to make my own scenery before; it was ok but not as good as I would have liked. Just got to put more time and effort into it I suppose.

General Elessar,

Just make your own. I'm not very good at it either, but it is pretty fun and cheap. Given the amount of use it is going to see, you don't want super-intricate pieces. You want easy to use and hard-wearing pieces.

While I can make terrain, I'd rather have something that looks really good on the table. Here are a few in Europe that look good.

Here's one in the US that's fairly affordable. I think Ebob Miniatures in the UK carries some of this too.

I didn't really know where to ask this, & thought opening up another thread would be a bit pointless. Do large models sell? Like for exmaple the Helm's Deep or a large cathedral? Anything of quite a size anyway.

Thanks In Advance

woodland scenics make realy good tree kits that you can buy and you just glue the foliage- clumps of sponge generally-on to the trees.

But yeah, like others have said, just make your own ;)

Look into this link.

I make my own terrain but I also purchase terrain from time to time. I have some of War Torn Words water and rock features.I recommend this product because it is so durable.

yes. I don't recommend trying to sell them until you build up a good client list. The major problem will be shipping cost. You will have to design your products to survive shipping and handling as well.

The short answer is 'No.' Generally, terrain is a difficult thing to sell for some reason. People seem to be ok spending £50 on model figures without blinking, but blanch at the thought of buying a single terrain piece for that price. So you need to keep the price low enough to make it attractive to gamers. And then your customers get hit for shipping costs, especially for larger pieces.

Having said that, there is a terrain piece I shall be buying in the New Year (this coming from a devoted terrain maker) because it is so beautifully done and relatively cheap for the quality: http://www.tabletop-world.com/merchantsHouse.php
