One thing I would say is when recording don't do it by hand or leave the camera on the table, make sure it's securely on a tripod stand. :) If we could watch the videos we be in a more appropriate place to comment? :)

I suggest dont make video report, cause it is BOORING! This is my oppinon. Make a lot of pics, and post it here. We love to watch pictures, and read the reports. We can see all the details on a photo, but on a video everything is too small.

I made one as a slide show of photos taken during the battle. I added some text captions (about three words long) and background music and made sure the clip was less than one minute long. Not really a video, but I don't think anyone would like to look at my hand pushing miniatures around, or me babbling about my so-called "tactics".

I agree with Bastion.HUN, videos are cool and all but they just don't work with battle reports! A good battle report works with well written text explaining background information (terrain, special rules, etc.) and all the action in each turn, with overall pics of the table (making understanding the movements easier and just for the reader know what is where completing, like this, the text) and closer pics of important actions happening during the game (try to get the best quality out of your photos). If you're willing to put some extra effort in, you can edit some arrows and other helpful information in the pics. Normally The White Dwarf magazine has really good battle reports that are easy to understand and really fun to read! Take a look at one or two of them to get a feeling. 8)

This report was made by a friend. Its a 400 points WOTR battle between rohan and isengard. Its explain tha game to the new guys, and everyone, who is intrest about it. Here he did not make any close pics, thats not cool, but he made a lot of good looking up pics to explain. Of course he wrote a really long text to the battle, and no, I wont translate it :D

That's great stuff, a couple of close ups would nail it! 8)

i have seen a few videos on youtube, and i love the fact that you get to see the full picture, however i hate hearing people groan on about what is happening. maybe short video clip then written description, then short video clip then description, and so on. maybe that would work.

Theres a guide here at MWG which shows how he makes his style of battle reports.
Part 1 shows how he films them and part 2 shows how he edits them.

Part 1: http://www.miniwargaming.com/content/ho ... rts-part-1
Part 2: http://www.miniwargaming.com/content/ho ... rts-part-2
