Today saw the National Painting Competition held by Games Workshop all over the country. In our local store (Liverpool) Robert Earl turned up though I had no idea who he was lol. He was signing Black Library books and playing the new 40k game system.

So the point of this post is to find out how people did, perhaps posting pics of their mini(s). I saw Ebob's earlier and its fantastic (glad I wasn't competing against him  )

This is my entry

I came second in the LOTR category to a Balrog which thoroughly deserved first spot. So how did everyone do? And what more importantly did they enter?

I dropped Gandalf off this morning, but I have no idea how I did.
I'll find out on Monday.

But I have a great idea!

EVERYBODY! go to your GW store on Sunday, take a camera and take shots of the winning entries in each store!

Let's see what the standard is across the country.

No point for me...

GW Falkirk has postponed the NPC until the new 40K release date...

I did the same as Ebob and dropped off my entry yesterday morning and at that moment there were no entries for my category. In a way a good thing as I have higher chances of winning, but it's no fun that way  .

Anyway, I'll find out how I did later :)

I went to GW this morning to see the entries (had planned to go later in week but had a few hours free) - there were a whole bunch of Warhammer/40K models (I assume they were but I wouldn't really know them if they fell on me) that looked well painted, but there were only THREE LotR entries - and they were all eBob's three dioramas. Seems LotR isn't very widespread there these days. But the dioramas were really really impressive in person.

Talked to some staff, and they said that in the future there will be another nation painting competition. I sincerely hope that locally at least, it is far better advertised etc because I did not manage to enter it due to only finding out about it over the course of yesterday and today. The staff also said that they will soon have a small in-house painting competition, which is good.

Good luck to all you who did enter in time (I wish I was amongst you!)

Only 2 entries in Young Bloods in my area so the judges added us to the other age group which is a little unfair, however I am still happy as I was 4th overall in Single Miniature.
