Good luck at your convention, will be reading your blog with interest to see how it went.

Only one project waiting? I wish.

As I mentioned on your blog, excellent work on this terrain and I wish I lived closer to the convention you're attending (and the West Coast for that matter) as I'm sure it is going to be a blast! :-D

Thanks Kuribo. There are many good reasons to live on the west coast, but good LoTR games would naturally be the best reason. :)

Sir!

Your hirst arts buildings are sick. You really did it justice by being mindful with your corner brick. I also really like how modular your pieces are. Did you build a whole structure and figure out how to break it out, or did you approach it as making building chunks?

I found it easy when I was building from an instruction sheet. Building my own design took much longer and there was a lot of building to think and then taking action. I'm curious if you went in with a plan and how thorough of one?

Thanks Draked. I’m afraid that I don’t really understand your question...
Each of these was built as a complete structure by itself that I designed. There was a lot of dry stacking in the beginning to plan out how each would take shape but on the whole it was all build as you go. :)

Stewhr,

Dry stacking is what I mean!

My other question, are these all separate pieces or do they connect? I've been trying to build a large structure that can break down into smaller pieces.

All separate pieces. I recently made one huge piece that has 2 buildings on one base but on the whole each is separate. You can find pics on my blog.

Shouldn’t be too hard to make a piece that connects and cons apart though.
