Well, been a while since I've posted, so...some more recent works.

It's already a bit dark here, so sorry for the quality of the pics. When an army is together for about 1000 points, I'll make more detailed closeup shots with a better camera.

Very nice stuff, especially Boromir (one of my favourite models ever, sadly I don't own it).

As for Faramir's arm, If you don't mind sacrificing a Ranger the one in the lunging/stabbing pose (Left back in your pic above) arm would work. You could just slice him at the elbow and glue it on Faramir, not perfect but close enough to game with!

Thank you! I could complete it with the arm of an old Bretonnian Knights Errant champion (don't worry, it's a...khm...not so Finecast version made for myself from resin), so Faramir is all right. Tho he's got a big sword now.

The blue is really nice on this. Makes for a really nice contrast with the rest of the model. Never would have thought of putting blue into it. Original and effective. Great idea.

Thanks! But not too original, as you can see they used it on the painted example on the GW site :) On my ent, they meant to represent glowing moss, or something.

Thanks for sharing your work. Your models are coming along nicely.

Have you tried experimenting with different colours on the rim of the base? It's personal, of course, but I find that brown tones kind of give the model a lift somehow. Black, although bold, is quite heavy. I usually go for a brown like Steel Legion Drab or the old Graveyard Earth.

I intentionally leave them black. From the tabletop level it works great, and the movement trays usually hide the sides :) Tho dark brown base rims looking good, and I might consider it, thank you for the idea, and thank you for the compliments 8)

This time something different. I got a Human Command Group from Divine Rage this week, and painted up the drummer boy from it:

Rather blurry, but it turned out good. I wrote a review of the kit, you can read it here:

Last night I felt I couldn't start/continue learning for my Databases exam, so I've decided to pick up and paint a mini laying on my laptop. So...first Haradrim mini:

And tomorrow is my Birthday, and also the date of the exam...I have a feeling I'll fail, but it's the last this year, and I just want to get over with...passed the other four, and while not with flying colours, they were all right.

Straight from the third page, but here I am, this time with a converted Osgiliath Veteran. I added the cape rolled on his torso, some rag-tag chainmail on his "skirt", a small pouch on his waist, and an arrow defense mechanism (I don't know the name - on the bottom of the shield to catch arrows that would otherwise hit the shieldbearer's feet). Please note that these are my first attempts at sculpting anything.

Yeah, that's cool. I'm converting some of my own at the moment, I might have to borrow the chainmail and arrow-catcher ideas!

Feel free to do so, I'm happy if I could inspire something. There's a really good tutorial about chainmails on Youtube, just search for Converting Mordor Uruk-Hai, and there's a two part tutorial on that. I'll swap heads given I can find some in my collections, and maybe add some orc weapons to them ("If my sword is broken and can't find another...this cleaver will do."), but I don't have any ideas how to make spearmen who hold their spears with two hands. Maybe converting them from archers?

It seems my first pictures have disappeared, while the others on the second page did not...is it a problem for others too, or just my computer fking with me?

Anyway, I'm not dead! :) My Rivendell army is going well, 6 trays and a hero is painted. I have much to paint still, but at least I'm making progress.

If anyone have cheap armoured twins, Elrond (the new Hobbit version with both ft and mtd), and Erestor, feel free to message me...I'm dreadfully undersupplied with elven heroes.

Thanks for looking, and take care!
