These are my first finished dwarves models from the Hobbit, Thror, a Grim Hammer captain, and a Shieldbearer.

What do you guys think of the colour scheme I went for? I also chose to do snowed bases, to which I might add even more snow later on, and perhaps a diorama base when all of them are done (still 24 dwarves to be finished).

Mortaal

I really love that colour scheme. It's helped by the fact that you've painted them really well also of course, but the realistic tones really suit these models I think.

I think house ruling to let your shield bearer to be in the army of thor army list would be cool if you're into playing the game.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies so far. I can ally the sHieldbearer in from the free peoples book as a solo hero I thought? I hope to finish my next 12 dwarves today, just the bases left to do, and than ill post another group shot.

Regards,
Mortaal

Yeah, but it would be cool for it to lead some troops too.

Now as promised I will post my finished dwarf warriors. Not the best of images due to the lighting. I will see if I can make some better pictures wednesday.

I like the snow bases, do you have a snow terrain board?

I like the color scheme, and the snowy bases and you've done a good job on the actual painting.

I look forward to seeing more of your work!

And for those wondering what I have done with Thror's empty hand as I did not give him a shield, i painted him holding his glowing Arkenstone:

Awesome idea to give Thror the Arkenstone! I actually think he looks better without his shield anyway - the way he would hold it otherwise seems a bit odd to me. The painting here is fantastic, I can't wait to see the full army, for it shall doubtless be glorious!

I do not yet have a snow board, but after I will finish my diorama I will probably start making one :)

Thanks for the positive replies guys, I also enjoyed giving him the Arkenstone, perhaps upcoming weekend the rest of the army will be done and I can make a start on the diorama :)

Regards,
Mortaal
