Great work Damian- love the bear in the life and photos! I shall be stealing your\sams idea for the Erebor conversions, although different shields for obvious reasons!
If they come out half as well as yours I will be mightily pleased.

Thanks for the kind words guys! In rather surprising news I managed to get the warriors of Erebor finished on time - HUZAAH!

Really happy with how they turned out again, painting 8 was much more manageable than painting 10 like I did last time. Highlighting all the armour by hand still drove me mad (that stage took about 20 minutes per dwarf) but even having only 2 less models to do made a big difference.

It's great to see the force growing, got 18 of them finished now and very inspired by the project. Since I finished these I've been busy beavering away and managed to get the next 6 (which are just going to be standard Grimhammers) based and shaded.

And finally, in between batches of painting I found time to assemble Thror and Thrain.

Image

They're both gorgeous models and I can't wait to get stuck into painting them, haven't quite decided if I'll paint one/both of them next or if I'll get the Grimhammers done first, have to see what mood I'm in when I pick up the brush next!

That's all for now, away on my hols for a bit now but hopefully I'll have some pics of whatever I decide to do next online in about a fortnight.

Cheers!

*blows dust off thread*

Wow, so its been over two and a half years since I last updated this WIP thread - crazy times. I'm not going to go into some long winded explanation of why I haven't been updating things but, in short, I started working on the GBHL Podcast Youtube channel and doing weekly hobby VLOGS on there to document my progress meant that my pictures for here fell by the wayside. Anyway, it's something I'm keen to address and hopefully I'll be posting on here at least semi regularly again. I've got loads of pictures stored up from the stuff I've been working on over the last few years and I might post some of is up here as and when.

Anyway, for now, here are some pictures of my latest models, the two new Forge World Ogres sculpted by Keith Robertson. They are absolutely stunning models and I really enjoyed working them up over the last couple of weeks. I also took them to the GT and was delighted to see them wreck merry havoc in all three of their games, they're a really nice, balanced profile with truly stunning models - highly recommended! Some Laketown Militia are next on the table for me, hopefully I'll have some pics up in a few weeks.

Cheers all, good to be back!

They are great models full of character and you've certainly given them a fitting paint job. Most excellent.

Personally I'm not a fan of the sculpts, but your painting is very good, I think you captured their facial expressions well. :yay:
