Wow! I've always been in awe of those who can freehand on something so small! It looks amazing, great job! :)

Somewhere, somehow, an orc has some narcissistic problems...

Sweet freehand mate! Very neat!

Beautiful army. And I love the barbarian. The painting is top quality. Is there any chance of a scale picture of the Scibor Barbarian next to the orcs, and/or any other LOTR minis you might have to hand?

The banner is awesome, of course super unrealistic for orcs of that age, but for sure it is fantastic painting effort.

I've been painting a lot of Mordor stuff recently. Just haven't bothered with taking any photos of it because I've been away from the general internet for a while. I'll get around to taking some pictures and uploading them sometime.
Cheers for looking.

Cheers you lot. I tried a new technique with the black using a twin prime and lots of glazes to build up the shadows with very few highlights. It was really quick. A bit *too* quick actually. I was wondering if I'd rushed it but it's just lots and lots of.....well...black. So there's not much else to do when that's out of the way. The cloth on the flat top of his head looks a bit cack though (not shown in the picture thankfully) dunno why. Just looks off. I think maybe it needs a bit more fine detail highlighting. The technique worked OK for the bigger areas but not so much on fine detail areas.

@crucium
My favourite character too! That voice.....Oh that voice.
Did you know the guy who played him was the guy out of Mad Max 2 with the gyrocopter?

Can't believe they cut him from the main film.
