Hello everyone!

Wow, it's been two weeks since my last post :/

Anyway, small update. Finished two Rangers of the North, a man and a woman (the lighting's a bit bad, whoops):

I particularly like the way his cloak looks and the details on the female Ranger conversion (she has a scar across one eye, for example).

Andddd I finally got round to trying out the 'new' texture paints. I think they're pretty cool:

Thank you and good night!

Very good painting, but do the rangers of the North paint their hair bright red?

Nice conversion on the woman too.

Nice work on the rangers Matt!

The ranger girl reminds me a bit of Ygritte from Game of Thrones!

I fancy that Ygritte girl from GOT like mad. Mind you there are loads of other babes in there as well.

Actually now that you mention it the resemblance is quite startling, excellent conversion by the way :yay:

Use a more orange red - if you look closely at natural redheads, you'll see they have more orange then red in their hair.

And yes, she does look a lot like Ygritte, now you say it.

Well, you are missing out the agony of waiting for the next season :P
The more you'll last before getting into it the better I think, so no need to worry 8)

She's got the looks and she definitely got the character and the courage, you picked pretty wise!
And ehm, redheads are my weakness aswell

G'day everyone, long time no see!

Been more than a month since my last update, just been too busy with work and uni stuff. Anyway, I've got a bit more time now, so I thought I'd get my backside into gear and start some more projects... not to mention finish my painting backlog! Also, my clay shapers arrived recently and I've been trying to improve my sculpting...

I recently bought a bigger lot of minis on an auction site (which I somehow managed to resell for quite a profit, even after taking out and keeping the figures I wanted!) and I decided to start a smaller Gondor army for fun.

Here's my modded standard bearer; basically just gave him a Last Alliance Gondor shield for decoration and added a GS ork head to the tip of his standard for good measure:
Image

Image

Sticking with the theme of Gondor, I had a spare armoured Boromir lying around that I had been meaning to do sth with. I finally decided upon making him a 'what if...' piece: What if Boromir had survived Amon Hen and returned to captain Gondor's armies in the battle of Pelennor?

Image

Image

Basically, I extended his original cape with GS (was much more difficult than I thought it would be) and added a hood and broach - now he look like he's wearing his elven cloak over his battle armour. Really excited to see how he looks when he's painted! I do love me a good Boromir conversion...

But wait, there's more! a Weathertop Aragorn conversion! I removed his torch arm and crafted him a new one, so it looks like he's about to take a two-handed slash at some unlucky ork:

Image

Image

And finally a Christmas present for my elf-loving little sister: A mounted MoM Legolas conversion:

Phew! Comments and criticism are very much welcome, it's good to be back doing what I enjoy!

I love the Aragorn/Weathertop conversion. Will definitely have to try that one if I ever come across a spare. Good job Matt!

Looking good! Especially Boromir and Legolas (far better then my own attempt). Just not sure wether I can see men of Gondor affixing enemy heads on their banners. Seems out of character, if you see where I'm coming from.
