Good job, indeed, but if you allow, I suggest to continue the painting. You should put up some highlights. For the black parts for example, those are too flat. Put some greys to the edges. You should put some light red to the lines of the cape. Not too much, not to storng, just a little. The beard is nice. The nose and the cheeks need some light skin color. I really like the blue eyes, very realistic! 8)

@Bastion.HUN, thanks so much for the constructive criticism! :) The colors are a wee bit brighter than in the photo (need a new lens for miniature photography), and the skintone is done very deep with my Dwarves...they are done with a mix of Bestial Brown and Tanned Flesh (OOP) then highlighted with Tanned Flesh, which gives my Dwarves a more earthy color to their skin...in fact Balin's skin might be a bit too bright for the rest of his Dwarf brethren. Thanks again mate! :)

I've always wanted that model. I've looked for it, I even purchased the special edition of LotRO; mine did not come with that miniature. Was it UK exclusive? Anyway, I think you did a great job with it, the black cloak looks superb.

Actually, I never purchased the Special Edition of LotRO either...I emailed Mithril almost immediately after the model was released for the game and asked if I could purchase one, and surprisingly they let me.

First I found the eyes strange, but now I look better at it I actually like it because it fits with his cloak.
