That NMM really pops. Purple really works for contrast for a gold colour.

very nice, contrast is very nice, and the colors go nicely together. Glad to see yet another NMM painter on this forum.

Thanks all, I'm glad you like it :) Here's a picture of the back that I forgot to post last night.

Not a whole lot has changed here except for the armor.
Thanks for looking!

Sorry I've been quite the last few weeks, still busy and tired. I've got a little more left to do on the Easterling, but I'm starting to think about what to do for the base. As of right now I have no idea what I'm going to do, so any ideas would be great.

I'm happy with how it's looking, I think this may be one of my best paint jobs so far.
Let me know what you think!

Interesting paint scheme you've chosen but very will done, the gold really stands out.

I think I'm going to finally call this figure finished. I could probably spend hours more on it and get the same result, so I'll leave it as is.

As you can see, I decided to go with a green marble base since it was different add something I have never done before. I think it turned out pretty good, considering I wasn't really sure what I was doing.
Comments and criticism welcome!
Also, if you haven't heard already, I will be taking a break from the hobby for a while. If you haven't heard, you can read more here: http://www.one-ring.co.uk/viewtopic.php ... 27#p401327

Since I am unable to do any painting, I am making an attempt to update my cmon gallery. So far I only have a couple up, but I'll try and add more over the next few weeks. Any votes would be appreciated :)

Also, if any of you guys have any advice, or tips in general, please let me know. Even if I can't paint I still want to know how I can improve. Thanks!

Your NMM skills are incredible. I'm currently struggling with NMM so maybe I'll use your work as a blueprint. The Easterling is pretty close to perfect to me; maybe the purple cloth on the back could be blended a bit better? Other than that I can't find a single fault really. I also like how you shifted the quiver down a little bit.

NMM is a tricky one in terms on contrast. I always feel like I haven't pushed it enough and I think this is were you are congrats from with thinking of spending more hours on it.
It is great what you've done and I'm sure you will look soon and see ways to make it pop even more, like deepening the shade in the belly armour to resemble the raised arm.
The recipe your using works its refining application so we can all hit Tommie Soule standard - if only !!!!

Good news, I'm back! Well, almost. I'm back in my hometown, but not home yet. I won't be all the way back till next weekend, but I'll try my best to get something painted up asap. I got an armored Glorfindel for Christmas so I hope to get that painted up soon, I'll probably start with something a little simpler first though.
Just wanted to give you all an update, I look forward to posting regularly again!

I'm officially back! I haven't had a lot of time to paint yet, but I was at least able to get something started.

Sorry for the bad pictures, I actually used my ipad to take them. Nothing too complicated yet. Still in its early stages, but the blue and tan are completely done. I've only just started on the purple.
As always, comments and criticism welcome!

It's looking good so far. 8) I feel that the blue could use more contrast between the light and dark parts. Not sure how to do that though.

Thanks you both, it's good to be back. I agree the blue could use some more contrast, but I sort of did it that way on purpose. I figured I'd play it safe for now and not go too crazy with the highlights. I've made a little more progress, I just have some touching up to do and finish the last few bits. Sorry again for the poor pictures, I'll take better ones when it's done.
