Brilliant conversion Natarn, I'm sure this will look (even more) fantastic when painted.

Dorth, you are such a drama queen! :?

Okay, here he is painted. Not the best paint job, but he fits in well with the rest of my Uruks. A pro would do teeth and eyes but... I'm no pro painter.

My next project is my 3rd 'dead' warrior.
I'm also painting a group of plastic high elves that I've had hanging around for ages, and I'm finishing a wargless warg rider (the warg got killed and now this orc is running).

He looks brilliant, but I have one little suggestion: I think you should have left Uglùks head on. This looks just slightly too much like a goblin painted as an Uruk.

Man.. he came out brilliant! He is in a good position and looks natural holding the banner (rather than that head) :D

My current project is working on painting my Rohan army (150+ warriors and 40 riders) but that's going to take a while!

I've also painted 60 or more of my high elves and want to have some spearmen. They cost too much, so I'm going to convert 20 swordsmen. I've begun to make an elven shield, which I'll cast when I make a mould of my latest 'dead' warrior. I'll also have to make and cast some spears.

That should give me an elven army with 20 spearmen, 30 swordsmen and 50 archers. Hmmm, doesn't that break some kind of rule? Oh, well... They'll look good!

I suppose he is more interesting than warriors of Rohan. Yawn! Why do you think I've had these minis in the loft for the past 7 years?

Yes, he's my third mini; a conversion of the hero fo the dead but right handed and with a shield and new 'skirts'/chainmail.

Sorry, but you'll have to! Still, it'll be worth the wait. :)

I'll get back to him soon and get a mould made but I'm busy in Rohan at the moment, working my way through 171 warriors. I'm starting by getting as much base coat on as many models as possible as quickly as possible, and then I'll go back through the lot of them to finish them off.

The experience of painting these is turning out a little less boring than I imagined - though I do go into a bit of a trance as I batch paint groups of similar models. As usual, my painting's nothing amazing, but as a group they'll look good and they should be convincing enough for gaming purposes.

I'm distracted as usual.

Okay, so I should be finishing my warrior of the dead sculpt but I'm into banners right now.

I converted this guy with a paper banner years ago. However, after learning how to sculpt better banners, I decided to give him a new one.

Here he is.

And I finished painting yesterday.
