Thanks Aule, I wont disappoint! Finishing my base on my mordor troll at the moment. Very interested to know if anyone has painted a realistic looking palantir. Anyone completed one? Also 50 orcs down, 190 to go!

Good to know that you're making some progress on those orks. I'm looking forward to a truly epic Last Alliance/kill all umies en elves! scenario.

With that many models we might have to take up playing War of the Ring.

Sorry for the lack of updates, been rather busy in my personal life. I have now finished my first 60 orcs and I must say that i am not looking forward to painting the rest. My plan is to make every orc unique as I hate doubles on the battlefield. Anyways, here they are.

This has to be my favourite conversion as it realy captures the energy that im trying to get out of my models. I wonder how many of you can spot parts from different models on my orcs.

Also, I managed to finish my mordor troll chieftain for a game recently. I used the same tutorial as I used for my Isengard troll. Not sure if I am 100% happy with it, but I can come back to it at a later date. Soon I shall be starting on my terrain for my Fellowship campaign.

That's all for now. Next up shall be my conversions for the weathertop scenario!

Pro photos mate keep it up! Mr Troll is gonna kick some butts this Wednesday with a paint job like that.

60 orks down and 180 to go lol. I'm 140 uruk-hai and 1 Dark Lord down and 69 uruks + 6 wargs to go. War of the Ring here we come!

Love the Thorin Arm for centre ork on picture 3. Hes da boss with that spiky hair!

So that's were you've been !!!
The orcs look great and no mean feat getting them to look unique, big praise for that.
To be honest I don't think the troll skin has worked, too much extreme in the creases. Applying so mid tone glazes will help smooth this out. Keep the glazes thin and you will need a few coats to start getting there. When you are happy work on the highlights and shading.

The orcs are awesome, I love converting orcs, but like you once I did a bunch of mordor orcs, morannon orcs, Mordor Uruks... I was fried and had to take a break, so I have a pile of orcs still to do myself. They do look awesome once complete, and they take various parts very easily, and are easy to disguise as they are not uniform.

Troll looks great.

I'd say, body of the two-handed weapon orc about to strike, the head from a plastic warg rider, and the sword and shield arms from the orc swordsman with a cutlass. :) Am I close?
