The Gloss Mod Podge looks awesome. O may have to try that out, I have used glue in the past for small standing water but to see it on a large scale looking great helps me think larger for future projects.

I am interested to see the smaller rivers develop as well, I need some modular rivers for my gaming tables.

I was able to make a set of cast today. The riverbank cast are thin. The new molds are not as easy to scrape as the softer Hirst Arts molds. I was able to get flat bottoms with out much trouble. I used hydrocal without a mold release.

Image

I have cast the three mold twice each. I have a good bit to work with. I will have to discover which parts I like to use. I broke several of the long parts removing them. But I think I might have broken the cast when I scraped the backs too hard.

I am going to cut new bases with 45 degree edges to make cutting sections easier. I will use the square sections for the cavern river.

Image

I am going to use some of the riverbed parts with the tincaps for generic and small scale rocks.

Image

The riverbed cast will work with the fantasy ship game or other small scales

Super- I really love the reeds! I know you were disappointed with this after seeing the film, but it's nice to see you ploughing on with it- I think it looks great.

I will let you imagine what I thought of the last weekly White Dwarf.

I have been ill, although nothing life threatening it has affected my mood and focus. I will be more comfortable as it gets warmer. It looks like a nice spring day. I am making a late start but I may be able to get some more done today.

Thanks for the nice comments everyone.

I have been working on some projects for expanding my Dwarven Forge collection to take advantage of the new Kickstarter. I do not like the new 2' by 2" foot print for rivers.

Image

I made some cast for prototype rizers.

Image

These will ease the transition of the new Dwarven Forge Tiles into my Moria project.

Image

This is an early stage prototype stackable water fall. The two by two sections combine with other parts in the DF sets. I will use Water Effects from Woodland Scenics for the water.

Image

The tiles are blue for illustration. The 2' by 2" tile will be painted to match the DF prototypes below.

Image

Pre production prototype stackable walls and 2" by 2" water tiles.

superjman"s Concept drawing I am working from.

Intriguing idea. I've never seen it done before, but it makes a lot of sense!

Painted to match Dwarven Forge

First stage for Woodland Scenic Water Effect

Image

The sheets of water effect have been added using Water Effect as Glue. Some ruff water has been added. It will dry clear.

Really nice project. Sadly the shipping costs from dwarven forge to europe are very high. (for the kickstarter)

I have been using the Dwarven Forge Paint on The Other World D&D Demon and the Fenris waterwheel. I also repaired some old soft tin roper beast.

https://www.facebook.com/FenrisGames
http://otherworldminiatures.co.uk/

Image

The hard part is to leave it alone until it is dry enough for the next step. It is cool and raining so it will take a little longer to cure.

Image

The thin coat of Water Effects on the Old Hammer Dwarf mine works dried overnight. I have added one coat of Realistic Water. When it drys I will add the duck board.

I have been working on the 2"X2" foot print modular waterfalls.

Image

They are supposed to combine with some other DF tiles. I have not started on the bases.
I am working on some mine sections too but I will work on the river sections this week.

Image

I am going to make a mill and mill pond along with the small river set.
