Cute. I HATE when there's something like the Horn that I forget to leverage during the game. I like your thoughts on how to trigger your memory.

I've enjoyed this topic and was hoping to resurrect it a little with a few thoughts on the most evil combos of them all perhaps lol.

Combo 1 Moria Shaman w Goblin King.
Channel the fury and the Goblin King gets 3 layers of saves. Fury, blubber/armor, and fate.

And even worse is Sauron w the Ring and a Task-master. Save all your might for the rare rolls that would have you fail the one ring's save and use the task master to make some of that might free lol

Pretty expensive combo but shade behind balrog, auto win on 5 and 6 (unless the opponent has might)

Just ask your opponent one question: "Do you really want to do that?"
It drives them nuts.

Marauders wargs + Gundabad shaman. Break enemy heroes or monsters weapons, they can't deal with the marauders anymore and get wiped out easily.

The Undying plus Kardush and a few of either type of Goblin Shaman. Spells galore.

If you use special rules like passengers you could also create some deadly combo's. Just imagine a cavalry army with Malbeth as the passenger of your banner bearer.

King's guard elves with spears behind Numenorians, just to see people's faces when their monster draws in combat.

He was talking about the elf kings guard. The dwarven kings champion is way way better lol. Plus, that was the only game the WK has lost so far so :P I demand a re-match haha.

The Necromancer with a Taskmaster is my favorite. He can easily kill 7-12 models a turn depending on what army your facing. Just cast that Channelled Chill Soul and watch the destruction! Taskmasters give back that Might for the win! :D

I'm thinking of building up a blob of Black Guard supported by Morannon spear/shields headed by the Dark Marshal for the banner bonus. Then additional companies of Black Guard/Morannon with other Mordor support nasties like drummers and Shamans and the like.

I know it's not particularly dirty or under-handed, I just quite like my rank-and-file lines and the Dark Marshall is a lovely little model. (Gosh and so are the Black Guard even if I'll never be able to afford them)

No he can't as you can only cast one Chill Soul per turn...

...and he costs too many points and dies too easily.

A tactic I have forced myself to use for the past year is bringing a model of Legolas with my Gondor Army when I play. I also bring a picture of Orlando Bloom, light 4 candles before the match, and use obnoxious orange colored dice when using Boromir. (I dont even field Legolas in my Gondor Army list, he is usually placed somwhere near the board out of place where I can easly view him)

The reason: I cant tell you how many times I just burn Boromir's heavy might pool to wins fights without remembering to use the Horn...

If I can see Legolas, I am reminded of his line at the end of Fellowship when he has that constipated look on his face when staring at Aragorn and you hear it blowing in the background," The Horn of Gondor!" Hey, if it saves me 2 might over the course of a battle... its awsome tactics! :legolas:

Thats hilarious. I cant tell you how many times I forget about even more obvious things! Thanks for this topic. As a newer gamer and someone who constantly forgets the intricacies of all this, its a major help.

I was using Burdhur in a game the other day and my opponent tried twice to sing him away but Buhrdur passed his courage tests both times and then threw a stone at the sentinel.
