I remember that there was a rule about only 1/3 of a force being made up of archers. I've tried looking this up in the big hardback book (the one with the aotd missing) and can't find it.

Does anyone know where that rule is or is it no longer used?

Cheers,
Natarn.

I think it is under scenarios in the main rulebook. But in the new rules, it is for indeed that only 1/3 (rounded up) of the Warriors in each allied contigent can have bows. Page 5 in the new books.

I believe for the old rules it was in LOME, not the ORB.

With the Exception of Harad and umbar armies
page 26 "Fallen Realms" the scorpions sting, if your force (or allied contingent) contains warriors of harad ,Haradrim Raiders, serpent Guard, serpent Riders and watchers of Karna then its bow limit is 1/2 instaed of 1/3

Thanks, Hithero. Do you know what page it is in the ORB?

Sorry no I don't, I've just moved and have yet to find them, it should be just before the scenarios in selecting forces. Note, the rule is different than LoME, Heroes are exempt from the rule.

Not in the One Ring book; but in LoME and the new rules, yes.
