 Post subject: green stuf

maybe a stupid question but how do you make green stuf hard ? i thought is see bake it but i dont know for sure and if you bake it what happens to plastic parts ?

When you mix the green stuff together (the yellow & green part) it will harden normally after an hour + depending on the room temperature.

about 24hrs to set properly if u paint it before it drys itll take probly weeks lol

I found this out the hard way and at the expense of a good 4hours work.

I'm sure I heard somewhere there's no need to wait for it to set before you paint it, at least for small stuff like gap/joint filling. I routinely paint over it pretty much straight away, without problems.
At least with a black undercoat... you sometimes wonder whether what you have done with the putty will look right, once painted - will you be able to see the join...? So I usually quickly black undercoat, just to check it out...

Agreed that you can safely paint small patchwork relatively quick. If you did anything significant (large gap in join on a big model) I'd wait at least an hour or so. If you have sculpted a replacement arm give it a day.
