Does anyone know of any substitutes for citadel paints??

GWS is quite expensive...

Vallejo, Reaper and P3 all make respectable paint lines. I'll soon be switching to Vallejo myself :)

They're not much cheaper but they come in bigger bottles. I'm afraid you won't find much out there that's good quality and significantly cheaper.

Reaper does make good paints. Their triads make shading pretty simple.

In order, my favorite paints to use:

GW
Reaper
P3
Foundry
Vallejo
