I am building the main gate of minas tirith but I am very inexperienced as far as playing lotr sbg goes. My question concerns how to get characters onto the towers on and around my gate. Should I build ramps, stairs, ladders, or even a door and hatch. I am talking a 2" or 4" height difference between surfaces. My layout is similar to that of cayoz's minas tirith with the exception that my main wall is curved. Any input would be great, thanks.

I would suggest stairs in most cases. Ramps are great but take up more space and don't tend to lead up to towers and walls. Avoid making them much more then 14cm long, especially the ladders which would work well in towers but can be difficult to place minis on. Doors and hatches are also a great idea as they add more tactical elements to the piece and so make playing on it more challenging.

If I choose to make doors and hatches to I then have to create interior rooms for my towers?

If you don't have interior rooms then you can just make doors and hatches to make it look like they are there or just skip them all together.

wow that looks really good. My plans look very similar to that, but one problem i have run into is (and it looks like you solved it just fine), is how to create the curved sections of the gatehouse. I was planning on using foamboard for the core of my walls and the only idea i had was to use poster board, but this seems as though it would be flimsy. How did you do it?
