What do you mean by Games Day mini. . . like the ones they release annually as games day only? If so they are far rarer than those. Those generally go for $20 or so.

I'm so tempted to open my sealed box of Dark forces because it has a troop of red eye uruk-hai inside it. Reason tells me that he can't possibly be in there, but then hope is always there.

So DMS, just out of curiosity - was there a set limit as to how high you were willing to go for that one?

Lol fair enough, well I'm glad it's gone to someone who appreciates it :)

I've vowed to get one of my own eventually; it randomly appearing like that gives me hope that there could still be a few likely to pop up in store somewhere.

In store is a pipe dream. I am hoping on the back of this sale that one or two might find their way onto ebay. The next one will be mine. Expect to see my commission painting website up within in the month ;-)

True, but it wouldn't make sense to wholly discount the possibility.

You'll have a fight on your hands for the next one; timing was the biggest reason as to why I didn't get this one.

That and Kev's all-in attitude. Guess I need to hope for a US only auction . . . though that too is a pipe dream since according to my US Gamesworkshop collector source none of that pose made it out of England retail wise.

Well to be fair I think we'll all have a fight on our hands :/

Never out of the UK huh? That's interesting; for some reason I had in my head that this one was in Canada.

Any idea how long the production run was?

Extremely limited. My friend who was a long time District manager for GW said that there isn't an exact number but less than 200.

That beats less than 20 I guess. I suspect the vast majority of those are with unsuspecting owners currently. Probably just a matter of time before they come out a bit more regularly.

Yeah for an auction that I'd been watching for so long it took me a surprisingly long time to bother checking where it was :P

Ah, ok I wasn't sure as I've never bought one. GW always seem to hype them up as being extremely limited edition and all the usual bs.

Was watching this auction very closely and was tempted but it was soon out of my reach, again like others had said, the timing wasn't right for me to spend such a princely sum on a single figure :) But agreed, it couldn't have gone to a better home, oh well DMS your one closer to the ultimate goal than I am :) Enjoy your new purchase... Will you be painting him at some stage?

I will be painting him in a couple of weeks hopefully. I am just amassing another bulk load of Mordor Uruks and then I will paint the lot together.

A little advice from you guys if you would.

Should i paint up the rare Mordor uruk and base on the usual 25mm base or put him on a 40mm cavalry scenic base - what do you think?
