More miniatures completed for Sedition wars plus some heavy support for them when used in Warpath:

And now Amy's Elf progress, one more regiment done and some Autumn leaf scatter used to finish the units off:

Nice work, are these Sedition Wars as well?

All the troops are Sedition Wars but the vehicles are from Old Crow, I've got three scout vehicles as well waiting to be painted up.

It certainly does and I've really been pushing myself with the Sedition Wars miniatures, trying techniques I've not used before and actually painting the faces (rather than a simple wash).

Very nice looking APC's. I will ignore the obvious shot-traps in the design - apart from that they look futuristic.
And lots of Elves :)

Very neat painting again! I like the wheeled vehicles - they are not so different for some current designs.

Well it's been a while since the last update but painting all that blue was wearing me down so I needed a change. I opted to go with the Veer-Myn I picked up some time ago, I know they are not to everyone's taste but I always liked the look of them. One thing I set out to do with these is just give them a simple table top level scheme that would look okay and not take too long to do and as it happens the chaps below took just over one weekend, which is good going for me.

Amy has also been busying herself with her Elves which you can see below.

Tell Amy I think her Mantic elves look brilliant! Best colour scheme I have seen on these. I bought the elf mega-army box with 80+ miniatures so it's on my list of painting jobs. Should get to it around 2034.

The Vermyn are appropriately filthy. The Elves have suitably earthy, living colours that are not harsh on the eye (I have seen some fantasy armies that need a health warning or sunglasses to look at).

I'll pass on your regards :)

Filthy is exactly what I was going for (Mantic colour scheme is a little too toxic for my liking).
I know what you mean about fantasy armies, some require sunglasses to look at. We've always preferred a more Tolkien-esque look for our fantasy forces, yeh surprising I know :)

The Galadhrim are brightly armoured but in a very elegant fashion. The Mirkwood Elves in DOS have something of that going on though with a darker palette. And the High Elves are fabulous. I love those big swords - a design masterpiece.

After a well earned holiday I managed to get the rest of the Veer-Myn force done before heading back to work so here are the results:

Finally the force as a whole:

Next up on here will hopefully be the new minis from Deadzone but before that some more LOTR miniatures in my main thread.

You guys are really turning out a lot of very well painted minis!
The darker themed Vermyn look very menacing.

Thanks Dorth, it's like a little cottage industry at times.

I'd like to be going faster than I am due to the amount of projects I have backlogged; Sedition Wars (I have a love/hate affair with these minis, love them once they are painted/hate them while I'm painting them but I was the one who choice the scheme); Deadzone (which is incoming); Doctor Who (classic and new); Dune; Abyssal Dwarves for KOW; Forge Fathers for Warpath; and then finally LOTR. I actually thought I was done with LOTR as nothing in the Hobbit has exited me (yet) however thanks to Miniatures of the North I've got a lovely Fallen Dwarf army to do (first licks of paint went on last night) and I've stepped into the realm of getting my own minis sculpted, which I can tell you is dangerous territory in that it's a bit addictive and I've not even got my first sculpt yet (but he is one mighty fine mini... bigiture ;))
