I'm starting to think about potentially taking a full Dale army but am worried about them being absolutely steamrolled - for 500 points what would you think of the following?

Warband 1
Girion, Lord of Dale, Great Bow
12x Warrior of Dale, Esgaroth Bow

Warband 2
Captain of Dale, Shield
6x Warrior of Dale, Shield
6x Warrior of Dale, Shield, Spear

Warband 3
Captain of Dale, Shield
6x Warrior of Dale, Shield
6x Warrior of Dale, Shield, Spear

Total 502 Points (Slight issue if I take a warrior off it will affect the bow limit, I think best bet would be to take off 2 shields from the spearmen)
Model Count: 39
Might: 7

Seems interesting... thing is with these kind of armies that got lack of variety,.... nothing much to say about it.

Though not sure up to what point dividing 1 full warband for the use of bow can be effective... in some scenarios with bad deployment you can eventually comitt the full warband into oblivion.

I don't think there is anything wrong with it.
Sometimes you just don't get any options, Dale is one of those forces.
I would drop the shields as you suggest. I don't think there even is much option to change things? A banner would be excellent if that is an option, even worth dropping a few models or shields for.

Its perfectly fine to play a force that has only a few options. Just play it as long as it interests you but you may not win a lot of games.

For numenor you can get isildur and 2 captains along with 36 troops, basically identical to what you have. Isildur is arguably a bit more fun/better. You can choose to give the captains armour or horses for more choice but really its playing just for the theme of it. Personally, i love numenor so I will play with them every now and then.
The only way to change it would be to give them axes or something i generally do not approve of!

Thanks guys

I don't think there's much else that can be done really with this force, to get the plus shoot bonus it's just entirely Dale troops

I'll stick to 500 points for now and try them out but I can always ally them into other armies in the future
