So i've made an army of thror and i'm just wondering if anyone has any comments or criticism for it before i send it to war!

Warband 1:
Thorin with Orcrist
6 Warriors of erebor with axes and shields
6 warriors of erebor with spears and shields

Warband 2:
Dwalin the Dwarf
12 grim hammers

Warband 3:
Balin the Dwarf

Thanks in advance!

I'm not hugely familiar with the rules for the game, but thematically, would it not be wise to have Thror lead your third warband? From my little knowledge, I understand Thror is better than Balin anyway, but I could be mistaken. :)

Lol......thematically, yes. But Thror is almost 150 points while Balin is not even 50.

So for maybe 750 points, it would be nice, but he obviously made Balin his own warband for that reason.

I agree though. Thrain is also a nice fluffly character.

I'd take the oakenshield before i'd pick orcist

I'm building a 450 point Army of Thror which is very similar to yours

Warband 1:
Thorin with oakenshield
3 Warriors of erebor with shields
3 warriors of erebor with spears and shields
6 grim hammers

Warband 2:
Dwalin the Dwarf
3 Warriors of erebor with shields
3 warriors of erebor with spears and shields
6 grim hammers

I've split my grimhammers up rather than have them in one clump. Depending on deployment I have a bit of something everywhere.

Yeah i had that idea, i could group a grim with s shield and a spear man so that the grim hammer could bash the enemy down and the warriors could kill it with the advantage.

Thamsk guys so far. As for the heroes,
I'm using the ones from escape from goblin town that are compatiblr with army of thror. I have balin for his support capabilities rathr than his fighting strengths. I think he csn seize priority and he csn also use stand fast and stuff.

it's the same thing I'm doing just most of my games are 450 not 500 points.
If I was to add Balin to make it 500, (and this is assuming you have 1 box of grims and 1 box of warriors and don't want to spend extra money on additional troops) i would split the troops up evenly between the 3 heros. It just means Balin won't get caught alone as may happen in deployment in some scenarios.
Warband 1:
Thorin with oakenshield and Orcrist
2 Warriors of erebor with shields
2 warriors of erebor with spears and shields
4 grim hammers

Warband 2:
Dwalin the Dwarf
2 Warriors of erebor with shields
2 warriors of erebor with spears and shields
4 grim hammers

Warband 3
Balin the Dwarf
2 Warriors of erebor with shields
2 warriors of erebor with spears and shields
4 grim hammers
Total is 501

Or switch orcrist for a bow on Thorin for 496 points.

Chances are you will need the sword more than the bow simply because you want Thorin up and in the fight not standing back. But of course orcrist is not effective against all enemies.

Yeah i would have them in a line alternating grims and shield warriors with the spears spread behind them and the heroes up front (not balin)

Never ever give Thorin a bow if you also have the oakenshield. It'll bring his defence back down to 7.

And defence 7 is sooo fragile... Hehe
Galanur, he's using The Hobbit Balin, not Balin , lord of Moria.

Hi everybody!

I hope it is okay that I am using this thread for some questions about my army instead of making an other thread.

Do you think this army is competitive?

-Warband 1: Bombur
-Warband 2: Thorin Oakenshield with The Oakenshield; Orcrist; 6 Warrior of Erebor with Spear; Shield; 6 Warrior of Erebor with Shield;
-Warband 3: Balin ; 3 Warrior of Erebor with Spear; Shield; 6 Warrior of Erebor with Shield; 3 Warrior of Erebor with Spear;
-Warband 4: Alfrid

Total: 450 Pts.

I want to use army as a competitive army. For a friendly game, I want to add Beorn or Radagast on sleigh with Sebastian. What do you think, who would be better for this army?

Thanks
